  1. So tore into it today and even though it was a good place to start I can see any visiable valve damage. No areas of contact or anything. Sigh! Time to put it all back together and get a new cam. Here's the pic https://drive.google.com/folder/d/0B3u9r81m9OssZm8tTTQ5Ull3WjA/edit
  2. Well I plan on opening her up tomorrow and see where we are at. Until then I can still dream
  3. Very interested in how it goes, my cam just snapped and I'm looking at swapping in a vg33
  4. And then I obviously can't keep my vg30 cams. But I read somewhere it said to swap all the vg30 externals over. Is it not plug and play or is it just my harness wouldnt match the 33's components
  5. Is it better to get a later year like early 2000's or should I stick with a 90's
  6. I can do the swap myself, would it be better to go ahead and swap a 33 into it?
  7. Damn! That sucks. This is gonna get expensive.
  8. So yesterday I was driving home and lost a lot of power it felt as if I was only running on three cylinders. it would only stay running at over 1500 rpms and even that was rough. it only even out around 2k only in park. so I got it home and and tore into it today. thinking it was timing I tore the front end apart and went to correct the timing mistake i could only guess the previous only did wrong it, was 2-4 teeth off, so further along I went to adjust the left cam and to my surprise it spun. thats not supposed to happen. so i took of the valve cover and the rocker arms and the cam was broke at the first bearing. so... I need to know if this has happened to anyone else and how am I supposed to get the remainder of the cam out. While I am in here is there anything else I should do, The timing belt and tension-er and water pump was recently replaced. and should i replace both cams or just the one?
  9. Cleaned the mud off the bottom, and ripped out the old ****** muffler and straight piped her cat back. Sounds sick, plus the previous exhaust was necked down to 1 1/2". She just couldn't breath.
  10. Honestly I've got a Lincoln mark viii that'll get most mustangs. Does 0-60 somewhere around late 6's. Great car to just drive plus can maintain a very stock look for the sleeper we all love. Featured the modular 4.6l v8. Sequencial port injection. Can find super chargers and or turbos pretty cheap. And easily chipped as all police Ford's have the same engine. And mustang engine parts are common
  11. Cool cool, the bull bar is off my old 87 hardbody. So are the fenders and hood.
  12. That would for the picture game thread, they needed something sticky/curious. so I figured I could throw something together.
  13. I'm in Albany, I'm not for anything too crazy either just something for a little fun, generally I hear about Mary's peak, snow peak, shotgun ck, and McDowell ck. All this side of the mountains. I think I might convince the wife to go to Mary's peak, west of philomath.

  16. Hello everyone I'm from Albany Oregon. I owned a 87 Nissan hardbody for about four years. I took it everywhere but I really wanted a pathfinder. The vg30 is an amazing engine and will take all the abuse I throw at it. This year I finally bought a pathfinder. It's a 1990 FWD se. It got the nickname trouble with a curve(also a movie title) at first Because every left turn it would stall out. I've got big plans for it just like everyone does. Would love to get together with some of you guys to go play in the mud.
  17. Any Oregonians out there know any good places to go wheeling, I know in the winter we can just about go anywhere and play in the snow but what about fall? On a second note would anyone be interested in setting up a monthly or every couple month get together.
  18. I was did a filter swap yesterday, on my 90 pathfinder 4x4 se. And removing the exhaust would have made it easier but the pan wiggles around enough to get the five filter bolts and and change the filter. Though I'd recommend soaking up the rest of the tranny fluid in the pan and cleaning the magnet.
