  1. Its finally almost done. Its running and driving but my timing is just a little bit off. It hesitates a little when I put my foot into it. Its not as responsive as it should be.
  2. Definitely, unfortunately I don't have any sort of access to a flow bench. I'll just put my hand at the tail pipe and feel if its pushing more air. ;-)
  3. Hopefully its not worse. I think the left head I was able to do way better since I had practice with the right head.
  4. Alright finished the heads as far as I'm gonna go, I uploaded a ton of pictures. I'm finally putting this thing back together and the heads are on the truck. But its time to clean up and get ready for work. https://drive.google.com/folder/d/0B3u9r81m9OssZm8tTTQ5Ull3WjA/edit
  5. Its raining outside so I can put anything together until I clean out space in the garage to push the ol pathy into
  6. I'm doing both sides the other will be cleaned and ported tomorrow. And then I'll throw it all back together and hope it runs.
  7. Need to clean the drivers side head and buy new tips to port it
  8. Cutting ball works amazing got through the rest of the ports with it. Added some pictures
  9. Whew definately takes a lot of work. I've got one cylinder almost done just cleaning up a little bit. Spent an hour on it. And I'm definitely gonna need more sanding rolls. I only had four and I'm down to one. Hands feel numb from sitting with the grinder so long. I've noticed sanding takes a lot longer than grinding tips. I started using the corse tips first and the sanding after just to save tips but the grind tips go pretty fast too. For those of you who've gotten a port feel free to comment on how it looks and what I can improve on. Sorry its a link I still haven't got a photobucket. And there with all my other photos https://drive.google.com/folder/d/0B3u9r81m9OssZm8tTTQ5Ull3WjA/edit
  10. It seems as though polishing is only for looks and does do to much for flow
  11. Also watching a professional do it helps a lot and being able to ask "so how come you just did that?" Is a good bonus.
  12. Even if I make mistakes, learning is the real objective here. If your to afraid to ruin something and never take a risk to advance your knowledge and experience how are you ever going to learn and grow.
  13. I believe with fuel injectors mixing isn't to big of an issue. Additionally pros weren't always pros and one day I'd like to call myself a pro too. Here's an excellent write up on port for all those interested. http://www.popularhotrodding.com/enginemasters/articles/hardcore/0412em_porting_cylinder_heads/viewall.html
  14. Though what I should ask, is how do I tighten the belt with out it getting too tight or being too loose. I think as far as breaking is concerned its because the first bearing is so far from the gear. And the add stress of a tight belt snaps it.
  15. I wonder what's so special about the rh cam that its the only one seeming to break?
  16. Lol I used to think I could keep it organized on the desk, but then my project started taking longer and things would get moved and lost.
  17. I'll take lots of photos and maybe a video or two.
  18. I think a lot of people get apprehensive about tearing into an engine bay. But if you just do it, even if you fail, you learn from it. And tools wise I just have sockets and wrenches, and an old school torque wrench, you know the ones with the needle. I just ziplock and lable everything.
  19. Yeah, I'm going to pull both and try my hand at porting and polishing them as well.
  20. Ah ha I hate those two little hoses, I had a hell of a time just getting them off, haven't yet put them back on.
  21. Cleaned up the right head and getting ready to go pick up the new cam. Added some new pictures to the file. https://drive.google.com/folder/d/0B3u9r81m9OssZm8tTTQ5Ull3WjA/edit
  22. Basically I need something with vice in its name
  23. Alright figured that one out. Now if you click that pictures Link I uploaded some more. Anyone have an idea how to remove the cam gear from a broken cam. With out a vice because I don't have one
