  1. 7 inch is too small! 15x8 is a minimum otherwise you restrict yourself for options in the future. If you ever go to 33's you will want 12.5 wide tires and 8 wide rims is minimum you can go with. Otherwise you will have the pizza cutter wagon wheels look.

  2. Well let's see, it's an 18" Seadoo, weighs 1950lbs dry without the trailer. Add trailer give or take 450lbs, add the water, I'd say it took on about 150-200 litres, = about 400lbs, plus my 33's and spare tire carrier (200lbs) looking at an easy 3000lbs.

Canon EOS 7D. If I told you how I know, I'd have to kill you.

This is correct, but what it doesn't tell you is what lens he used: Canon 7D with Sigma 18-35 lens.

And this is my pathy putting my boat away... :( summer's over, Halloween is almost here, and snow is just over the horizon...

  4. When I had mine initially mounted, it incorporated a bracket that tied into the tow hooks. One day I leaned on it and noticed it wiggled a bit. The front mounting by itself is not strong enough. At this point I had never winched the pathy yet, only used it to winch my tractor. (Still fairly new at that point). Immediately I revisited the design and the only bullet proof way of mounting this bumper is by welding it onto the unibody "frame".

I've since winched a hydro seed trailer out of a ditch, my dock out of the water and over a river bank, and my law tractor yet again...apparently I need to stop trying to off-lawn with it :)

  5. I had around 1200km clocked on my trip odometer when I got home. It was a great time. Same group as the guys that went on the Train Expedition except a few less. And this time I went without adult supervision nor toddler in tow, so the nights around the campfire were a bit less tame lol.

  6. More pics from the last trip, dubbed the "Bomber Run", 3 day rip around Maine with various stops, the main one being the B-52 crash site. But photos of debris are not interesting to look at so here are my favourites. Curtesy of our in-house photographer, Ryazan:

if your knife isn't sharp you might as well use a spoon.

A dull cutting tool is useless as well as dangerous as you have to apply more force to make it work, potentially causing it to slip and cut you. grab a file and sharpen that blade up mister. A machete doesn't have a hard edge so a file should do.

I'll also have to add, in our Boreal forest an Ax and a good pull saw (Silky makes great ones) will do better than a machete (jungle tool) for quick trail clearing.

The machete is sharpened with a file, it's just not as sharp as I keep my knives. I did use a file too.

And I have an axe in my truck that's plenty sharp. It's mounted by 2 quick fists in my trunk also.

Megaton, good point about the accident though. Due to the amount of things in my trunk, I'm planning on either installing a pet barrier or a raingler (sp?) net to keep anything from flying forward should I ever be in an accident.

    Hahaha...no comment! :D

Actually, that seems to be a good way to use the space. I've seen similar setups, and after staring at my interior for seeming 30 mins today trying to figure out where to mount a CB, I pictured it with some holes.

Where are you thinking about mounting it?

  9. Haha yeah that's a legit concern, but I've slammed the door a bunch of times and it spent 3 days on washboard gravel roads in that location and didn't budge. It's also very light and not overly sharp. I'm honesty not worried about it. Now if this was Final Destination 8 on the other hand... LOL
