Guys, I have a 97 pathfinder, and made a key at lowes (ironically I was there for other stuff last week). My key is oval shaped I'm assuming mine is just a regular key, no transponder? I did have the other key in the car also. I'm just not too familiar with the pathfinders yet and wanted to at least have one spare in short notice since I just bought the pathfinder.

I think mine is making noise at the endlinks, might want to check those? If you park your pathfinder with the wheel turned they way it normally makes the noise and push on the bumper and fender (carefull not to dent it) and see if the noise is still there. Also try to make the noise moving but on very smooth pavement. This should help you decifer between suspension noise or a rotating noise (like CV joint/bearing etc). Hope it helps.

My friend replaced the upper and lower arms prior to me buying his pathfinder. The deal was he would install them if I bought them. I bought the replacements at rockauto.com and googled a 5% discount code for rock auto so basically shipping was free. So for both lowers and one upper (he replaced the upper a year prior) its was like $135 shipped. They are all $45 each, it looks as if the uppers are the same part number and the lowers are specific left or right. I get a dealer price at my local auto parts place since I have three cars and by now they know me, and they still couldn't come close to rockauto in price.

Cool! I'll definitely post some pics when I'm done, I know this weekend I won't get any work done since I'm heading to AC.

Thats cool thanks I'll have to check it out. Have you tried any of the products I posted on, pretty awesome stuff. Ultra Finish I've seen first hand at the carlise car show and my dad has used since the 80's it works on just about any surface. It was originally made for the Aero industry. Zaino was recommended by a friend that has used probably every wax/polish known to man on his show cars, so I went with what the best he was using! I figure if it's waxed good enough the mud snow and salt should come off easy lol.

Yeah, sprint cars is how I know of them they need a mechanical system. Figured I'd mention them.

Thanks, I can't wait to finish it, but I've been really busy at work and on my free time hoping in a week or so. Yeah I'm painting the chrome grill and bumper to match. I cut the opening with a metal blade hand saw to not break anything but it cut really easy. Then made some wire epoxied mounts for the new grill mesh to be installed with (didn't finish that). It might be hard to tell but some of it is prepped in the picture on the right near the headlight there is no reflection. Going to do some bondo on the inside to close the gaps from cutting uprights, not neccessary but figured it would look better. Then paint. Thanks no color match, just some Krylon, primer, black gloss, and clear! I always thought spray paint was a joke for a car but then learned when I painted my Jeep you can make spray paint look really good and also make it last if the prep work is done right. If it was a daily driver I'd probably have a body shop paint it. Figure when I get a chance to wax the rest of the truck with Ultra Finish it will look awesome. http://www.ultrafinishproducts.com/ This stuff is the best also but I only use this on my car since it's expensive http://www.zainostore.com/

Just bought my pathfinder a few weeks ago and these are some small paint changes and front grill modifications. Going to paint all of the chrome to match the body color. Also opened up the grill and will be adding a screen in place still need to finish but figured I'd post some pictures. If anyone knows so nice seat covers they used let me know, I need a good driver side seat bottom as the one I bought is ripped up leather. Also would like to get clear bumper parking lights.

They also have mechanical fuel injection systems, don't know if they will work for this application? http://www.hilborninjection.com/category.asp?Id=4

Hi everyone, I just bought a black 98 SE last night from a friend. It's got 118k on it. The driver seat is grey leather and is really beat and ripped up. Any suggestions on finding a easy replacement or a new one. Also maybe some good ideas on specific seat cover like neoprene or something, i know they use to offer seat covers like that for jeeps? Just a thought, thanks in advance for any ideas!

Yeah just bought it last night. Runs good, swapping the tires on soon and a few clean up modifications. The drivers seat is pretty torn up (leather) so might try to find a replacement or some kind of nice cover like neoprene or something?

That's cool, thanks for saying. Yeah it's kind of the exact opposite as the jeep lol. It won't be a daily driver basically snow/winter vehicle and when I need to tow or lug stuff around and just need a SUV. I'd also like to take it wheeling some. I never lifted my jeep and took it serious off roading just bigger tires and it was very capable. My other friend has a 98 pathfinder also and honestly he has beatin on his pretty good and it just keeps on going lol. But I might want to do the skid plates i saw someone makes and maybe eventually a little bit of a lift? Now just trying to not spend too much money and see how I like it for a while?

Cool, think I'm going to go for it. Going to drive it tonight and decide whether to buy it.

Thanks, yeah looking forward to getting it. My other car is a G35 coupe so I really need something 4wd and also like off roading time to time. I just sold my 95 jeep wrangler last week, in the sole purpose of buying my friends pathfinder. Yeah I'm used to using the search feature on a bunch of car forums I use, and they definitley help a lot just figured since I am about to buy wheels I should post a topic to see if I get any last minute responses. Don't want to kill the gas mileage but don't mind it being slightly hindered since it's not really my daily driver unless it's snowing or loading up a bunch of people or stuff (the trunk in the G35 sucks, good thing the seat folds down but I didn't buy that car for it's capacity specs!) This is what I am planning on buying, and they are also pretty cheap, cheapest I could find and nice to know after searching that they should just bolt up no issues?: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/crr-3975860 These are the tires off of my jeep I want to use: http://s1297.beta.photobucket.com/user/EdEngel/media/Jeep_zps883e2bb2.jpg.html#/user/EdEngel/media/Jeep_zps883e2bb2.jpg.html?&_suid=136318231713904301119662360023 These are some pics of me and friends previously off roading mostly at Raush Creek in Pa, funny thing now is everyone in the pics has an nissan or toyota now: http://s1297.beta.photobucket.com/user/EdEngel/library/#/user/EdEngel/library/Jeep%20Offroad?&_suid=136318210665309997656425359929

Hi, I'm 90% sure I'm going to buy my friends 98 pathfinder SE tomorrow. He is going to replace the trailing arms tomorrow. My question is from what I have searched I can put my 31" tires that used to be on my jeep and they will fit with maybe minor rubbing. I am planning on buying the crager soft 8 15 x 8 steel wheels. I had those on my jeep also (different bolt pattern). Before I buy them from summit, does anyone suggest any other wheels to use? It looks like from everything I've searched the 4" backspacing will work well. Just wasn't sure if the heavier wheels/tires combo was that bad on a pathfinder, or if there are some typical aluminum wheels anyone is using? It has 16" xterra wheels on it now, but my tires won't fit and they were $600 at a great price and only have 2,000 miles on them so I want to reuse them and my friend would like the xterra wheels. Also anything in particular I should look at or for prior to buying, I'm getting a great deal so I'm not picky just figured some of you guys would know any typical issue items to look over (besides the trailing arms). Thanks in advance for any info!
