  1. Thanks for the reply. On our way to wa state. Started heating up going up hills the heater helps. I'm hoping it's the radiator and not the water pump. I haven't heard of a secondary thermostat but will look into it. I'm new to these. Haven't noticed any collapsed hose. I opened the radiator when it was hot and the coolant went into the coolant bottle and when I start it up it went back in the radiator.

  3. Does it have a 3.3L or a 3.5L? On the 3.3 the intake gaskets will leak on the passenger rear and is really difficult to see. Seems like with that much coolant loss you should see something. Milky sludge under the oil cap? Milky oil or trans fluid? Runs rough for a few seconds when cold started? Do you smell coolant when driving or after you get out of your car?

The 3.3 nope it runs smooth. I'll check the oil cap but the oil looks good. Thanks

  4. Check the hose that goes from just below the radiator cap to the overflow tank. Make sure it is connected and free flowing. A while back I suddenly had a temperature spike while driving, noticed low coolant in the rad, but not in the res. Turned out that hose had gotten clogged and when the radiator cap let the pressure out, it blew the hose off the barb on the res. Then every time the engine would go through a drive cycle, it would just spit the coolant onto the road. then suck in air when cooling down. It was a sneaky leak because it would never leave a drop in the driveway, or parking lot, it would only leak while on the road.

    Thanks I'll check it out
