I was getting just over 17 typically. Im sure the fact that i cleaned the plenum and manifold are a contributing factor as well.

I agree www.car-part.com is an excellent resource for finding parts. I purchased a Jasper rebuilt long block for a toyota truck years back. I put 80k miles on that engine with no problems until I finally sold the truck. I think Jasper engines still have a good reputation.

Running weed eater cable down the tube until it pops out the other end has worked for me in the past.

I was at the pull a part last week and compared R50's with and without tire carriers. It would be a very big and complex job to retrofit one. I like the idea but its not practical. Im going to try to fab up a rear tire holder and higher clearance hitch sometime. Slee used to make a product like this for 80 series land cruisers.

The speakers might be blown. Bose sells replacement parts direct. I ordered a Mercedes door speaker from them one for $40 that dealer wanted well over $100 for. Look up their customer service number online.

Thats usually a blocked sunroof drain. Weed eater cable works too.

I got 18.5 mixed driving on my last tank. I'm going to run a resistor on the circuit and see what it does. I understand what your saying about different voltage levels being detected by the ecm but it shows the whole acceptable range. In my opinion its worth trying and seeing if it works.

I removed the egr after replacing my valve cover gaskets. The original egr was cross threaded so i did not reinstall it. I made some block off plates and drove it for a week. I planned on reinstalling a new egr but the truck ran better and my gas mileage improved so i decided to leave it off. The fsm says that 1 volt is what should be coming back from the sensor. Is it as simple as adding a 1 volt resistor? Are some resistors more appropriate for automotive use? I am an experienced mechanic but i do not have a lot of electrical experience.

PS: to clarify i need to run a resistor on the egr temp sensor circuit.

I have removed the egr system and am experimenting with resistors the remove the cel. Does anyone have any experience with this?

I purchased a 1999.5 Pathfinder about 9 months ago. It is a manual transmission SE that had 95k miles when I purchased it and now has 107k. I have owned several Toyota 4x4's and a Jeep Grand Cherokee in the past. I have a relatively high level of mechanical experience and have been off roading since I was 16. I have had to do some repairs including replacing the main brake lines to the rear, a new a/c condensor, and a new idler pulley. I have also gotten all my maintenance up to date including new battery, changed all the driveline fluids, new shock and struts, and new timing belt and water pump. I have been surprised by high costs on some replacement parts. I took a set of manual hubs off of a nissan pick up and installed them and that made a big difference in my fuel economy. I am planning on getting a LSD 3rd member to swap into my truck as well. Any advice on junk yard part upgrades would be appreciated. For some reason I really enjoy pulling parts out of junkyards to updrade my vehicle or build hybrid parts. I have also installed a set of Michelin LTX tires and have been really impressed by the quiet ride that they provide. The only mods I have planned for the near future are some heavy duty springs and a roof top tent. I enjoy off roading and camping and typicaly go to the outer banks or uwharrie. I have not had a chance to take this truck off road yet but I am looking forward to going to uwharrie in the spring.
