  1. Thanks Precice1! I dont think i have that top Idler pulley since i have no AC compressor. And the fan clutch was removed when i changed to electric fan. Whwn just looking and lstening it seems to be comming from the engine top middle area around waterpump or the timingbelt cover. As you suggested i listned with a large flathead screwdriver but could not locate the sound. Waterpump seems to have been changed not to long ago. Could the timingbelt hit the cover?
  2. Hi! I have a sort of grinding noice in front of the engine that i can't locate on my 94 3.0 V6 It seems to dissapear a bit when engine is warm. I'm thinking waterpump, oilpump or something with the timingbelt or timingbelt tensioner. The timingbelt has been replaced at 200 000km according to previous owner, now i'm at 250 000km. If i would try to describe the sound, it's a bit like a coffe grinder. Any tips how find the problem? Regards Hägge
  3. Ok, thanks! Yes, i tried to soak but no result. I used the polyurethane bushings that came with the UCAs from AC... They will come out easy and can be used again? I remember i struggled hard to get the stock ones out. Then i think i will take it apart and maybe install grease nipples at the same time. Thanks! .
  4. Hi! I Installed new UCA's from AC about a year ago, now there is a anoing squiking noice from one bushing on the left side. I think i didn't use enough grease when installing the bushings. Is it possible to get grease in the joint now, or do i have to dissasemble, press out the bushing and do it all over again? I wonder if it's possible to fit a grease point/ zerk? (not sure about the correct english word for it) /Hägge
  5. Hmmm i was told by "Nissan experts" over here in Sweden, that a stock spare tire rack could not be fitted on a car that wasn't equipped with one from factory. But obviously... the were wrong... Now i have built a spare tire swing my self: https://fbcdn-sphotos-e-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-ash3/t31.0-8/1025511_254287731420140_299333433_o.jpg It is mounted on a previously built rear bumper. Not great looking but it does it's job, a little finishing touches and some paint on it. If i had this information then, i would probably go for a stock one...

  7. Hi! I borrow this thread for a trivial question regarding the heat shield bolts. What socket did you use to loosen the bolts? 9mm is to small and 10mm to big... Don't know if it should be an inch socket, would that be 3/8? (not familiar with inch measurements) I also have a ticking sound at warm up and would like to check the manifold studs.
  8. Thanks! Great to see the mounting point design. Do you think the stock bumper brackets can be reused to weld on a custom winch bumper as upper mounting points?
  9. Ok, Thanks! Sorry for not searching properly first... I tried a bit, but sometimes i struggle with the English...at least the tech English terms. Will look around!
  10. Hi! Has anyone mounted a winch on a wd21? I don't think the stock bumper brackets would hold??? Instructions and/or pictures would help a lot. I don't want to buy a prefab winch bull bar.
  11. I also had low reading on my temp guage. Tried to change the thermostate. Then i discovered that the mechanical cooling fan thermo clutch was not working properly. Since a new one cost a fortune over here, i converted to an electric fan. Now the temp gets to normal when driving slow or idling. But in winter and when in highway speed it still does not reach normal working temp.
  12. I want to mount a roof rack on my 1994 Terrano. The problem is there are no rails on the car... It seems i have 3 options: 1. Try to find rails on the scrapyard, not so easy to find and expensive. 2. Buy roof cargo bars that you tighten between the door openings. and then mount the rack to the bars. 3. Make some brackets and bolt it directly through the roof. the rack is about 120x140cm and weighs 40-50kg(90lb) Please give me some advice.
  13. Hi! I have a buzzing sound that seems to come from the gearbox when running in fifth gear. (manual) I have been told that it is a problem with bearings in the gearbox that don't get lubed when standing still in neutral. And that Nissan recommends overfilling the gearbox when changing oil, to avoid further wear. Anyone else heard about this? /h
  14. Hi! I am thinking about servicing the drive shafts on my 1994 3.0 v6 Terrano/Pathfinder. Anyone that knows how many lubrication point there are on the rear and front drive shafts? I can only find one... And can i get to the fittings with a normal grease gun? it looks tight in the u joint.
  15. Hi! I have heard that the most price efficent way to improve your on road steering/handling, is to swap the tention arm bushings to polyurethane ones. Ayone who has done that?
  16. Yes you were right...was out driving on a gravel road today and i know what you mean now... Ordered low profile bump stops today. Also looked at new cv drive shafts jn case i need new, they are so much cheaper in the US than over here. Thinking of buying 2 for spare. i have changed the outer boots on both sides, so i dont think they will last that long... Can you recommend a brand? Anyone know if NAPA has any retailers that ship to europe?
  17. ahardb0dy, I tried to crank one full rotation on the bolts last night. Witch gave me about 1cm at the wheel...but now its only 0.25" (6mm) between the control arm and bump stop. As you said the ride might be a little bit rougher. But to my surprise it seems a lot steadier on the road, almost no tracking and the bump steering is almost completely gone... Could it be that my upper control arms from 4x4parts is built to be in this steep angle? Dont know if i can leave it like this.... gv280z, I got new upper control arms from 4x4parts witch gives a correct camber alignment when lifting. They said that it would give 3" of lift when 0.5" (12mm) space between the upper arm and the bump stop. But that gave me only 2" of lift. And at the same time the new lift springs in the back gave me about 3.5" lift. Thanks Hagge
  18. Dont know if the link above works... Here is the lower controll arms again: What do you think...possible to crank a bit more?
  19. Here is a picture with both lower controll arms: https://fbcdn-sphotos-h-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-frc3/1796_187031248145789_1771869572_n.jpg
  20. Hi again! The reason i want more lift in the front is because the rear is much higher than the front after the 3" SL from 4x4parts. The rear is about 4cm (1.5 inch) higher. It doesnt look very nice...like a dragracer... im looking at the front diff drop as an option but it seems to be a little out of my mechanical skills. I am also thinking about lowering the rear a bit to get it even and then maybe lift the body 1". Or maybe remove the rubber pads between the springs and the upper spring mount, and then crank a little extra up in front. Do you think that would even it out a bit? Another question: I noticed that my rear bump stops are missing, have you guys yours left? Or replaced the stock ones? i have removed the rear swaybar so i guess my tires will get stuck in the inner fenders if pushed far enough? Thanks Andreas
  21. Thanks for your answers! Is it much work to change to front diff drop bushings?
  22. Is it possible to cranc the torsion bars moore than this without damaging the cv joints? I have seen low profile bumpstops. The right front wheel is turned right...
  23. Yes...sorry! the 32s are 11.5 wide. I have a set of rims that are 8" wide, would the 11.5 fit on those? those rims are quite deep, i think the backspacing is -16mm. Do you think that would be a problem with steering and fenders?
  24. Can you please help me decide what size to get... I have done a 3" SL and are now running on a set of wery worn General Grabber ST 31"x10.5x15 on legos. I was looking to buy a set of new 31s, but now i have started to look at 32s. I think the truck would look nicer with 32s. With the 31" i have on now, there is no problems at all with clerance, but they are missing about 1" of threads... If going for 32s would i need a BL or fender trimming? I'm planning to maybe do a 1" BL in the future anyway, but i do not want the truck to high since i just flipped over my Mazda truck.
