My old pathy is For Sale again! Should I buy it?
wolkersdorfer2 replied to wolkersdorfer2's topic in General Forums
well guys when I had the pathfinder i did a lot of work to it and sold it for about 2400 if memory serves, and it only has about 8k miles more now! its like they never drove it... the shifting issue sounds like a speed sensor, because he says you have to put it into first, then second, then drive or else it wont shift out of first. also ive been looking for another pathfinder, but i want something with manual windows, locks, mirrors, etc which this one is. and is rare to find honestly! also im stuck on a 94 or 95. like you said a thousand bucks isnt much to risk, i have a shop and the ability to swap trans if it comes to that. but it is getting up there in millage. Im going to look at it this sunday, i will keep you guys posted! -
Hey guys, its been a while. I used to own a 95 XE but had to sell it for many reasons. HOWEVER I stumbled upon it on craigslist, check it out. http://spokane.craigslist.org/cto/5311262166.html I think I can probably end up getting it around the $1000 range, but with it having "shifting issues" maybe its not worth the hassle, and I should just buy a different one. Im definitely Biased towards my old pathfinder, that rig was the one i miss the most and regret selling. Is a thousand dollar rig worth doing a tranny swap into?

How many others have confidence in the Pathy

Ah and being 4 linked is good? I noticed the shocks on ours are setup different than most American trucks ( where there's one each side of the axle instead of both on backside) all I know is ours looks cooler Strange how little I know about solid axles, when I can calculate roll center geometry and camber gain on macpherson and double wishbone setups... I'm new to wheeling, always been a tuner guy, when I got my pathy I got it because people said it was pretty capable off road, but my question is why? Just cause it weighs so freaking much? (1000lbs more than a Cherokee) But as for pulling people out and such, we are so underpowered... Is it the weight distribution? Or does everyone have LSD except me?? I'd say mine is 8.5-9 It's been in WA it's whole life and if you compare it to all the other 90-95 trucks out here it looks like its been garaged lol This is my first frame built car (only owned Hondas Toyota cars ect. And when we say "minor surfAce rust" what we actually mean is the rust started on the inside and is just now barely rusted all the way through and is flaking off the paint. How likely do you think this is what happened to my frame? Looks like paint flaked off just in the smallest bits by the rear wheels, and is starting to rust through..

With the noise of the siren, perhaps this is true. But I guarantee no one will be driving it down the road with the siren going off.. Especially because mine has kill start, so that if It is armed it won't start, it had to have a constant "disarmed" signal to allow fuel. and the actual siren is pretty well hidden so they can't just cut it off, and the GPS tracker will definitely come in handy if it does somehow still get stolen.. My biggest complaint is that if its armed, then it gets super windy, it could be going off over and over, same with loud cars driving by, pisses people off sometimes (including myself when it's someone else's car lol) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 2

What kind of mods do you have? Tires etc, and manual or auto? % city/highway? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 2

They're 30x9x15 Rocky Mountains. Aka, need bigger! I like the height but I would really like wider ones, but my rims are only so wide I was advised not to go wider.. Preach it. I highly recommend the compustar alarm. It's relatively inexpensive, and you can start with the base model and keep adding fun extras whenever you feel like it, it's what I have in my MR2 and love it! I'm going to get it installed in my pathy when I get the chance. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 2

Well I really think something happened there. They had to be watching and know the perfect time to steal it. They probably know enough people to sell the stereo without putting it online, I mean, I probably have half the connections, and still know 10 takers.. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 2

I did notify the police. They told me to now make a list of the items that were stolen to give to them. Not only were my tools and stereo taken, my spare tire holder(that was unbolted) and about 3 full cars worth of stereo wiring in a box, suspension for my civic, 2 bug guards a headlight, brake pads, fuel filter for my pathy, two tool boxes.. and just smaller things you acquire from years of working on cars. You know how it is.. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 2

i have a strong assumption that it was my next door neighbors, they do tons of drug dealing, and we've never spoken to eachother, until the day after my pathy was stolen, i was out front and he came out and yelled over to me, "its a beautiful day isnt it?!" oh well, i bought a steering club for my civic and my pathy, my MR2 has a good alarm system, so i think that ones safe. probably getting an alarm for my pathy though, i cant lose it again!!

Sorry didnt realize this is completely the wrong section too. anyways... well the morning it was stolen i drove around every alley way and every road for blocks, didnt see it, but it was found! the next door neighbor said someone dumped a car in their alley, behind an abandoned house six blocks from mine. It was exactly as kingman posted, you can tell it was a fast job, jammed the driver lock open, and busted the ignition, but they left all the plastic pieces for the steering console, along with all the screws, on the passenger seat, next to my screwdriver i had in the center console... they cut the wires to the amps, took them and the subs, you can tell they tried to pry the door speaker covers off, guess they didnt know you gotta take the whole door panel off for those! so all 4 of my alpines were still there! im just glad there is no evidence of "joy riding" or any damage, other than locks and ignition... still stole $500+ of tools and stereo, but my tires were worth over 600 and they didnt take those XD Glad i have it back! That said, i will be looking for a new ignition, if i get one from a junk yard can a locksmith tailor it to my key? Thanks guys.

Hey guys I know i havent been on in a while but i wanted to post this up here on 7/5 my 95 XE-V6 was stolen, between 7am and 8:30am, From Spokane, WA. i have lots of pics of it on this board, would greatly appreciate it if you see it come up on here, send me a PM or email wolkersdorfer2@gmail i put on - running boards, wing, clear turn signals (with chrome trim, stands out) white wheels with big tires as shown, has 3 ball tow hitch w/locking pin so they cant get it off, was also loaded with tools, car parts, and stereo equipment. considering the small timeframe, im sure they knew/saw me put all that in there. it was completely locked up, they must have had a key that worked, no busted glass or anything... Thanks

It seems to smell just fine, that why i didnt guess wrong fuel mixture via vaccumm, o2 etc. and i do have an exhaust mani leak. my question is why do our rigs weigh less than a cherokee, have a lot less power and a lot less displacement and seem more aerodynamic and get less gas millage? My buddy had 31's on his cherokee and averages 18 in town...
-
I know i dont have a TBI pathy but ive been shocked at my gas millage. in a bad way. the only thing i have aftermarket that i know of is the 30x9-15r tires, and a shift kit. my mpg is about 13-14 city and 15-16 highway. seeing how i do pizza deliver downtown, i do 90% city driving. it has had a whole tune up, i dont know what to do to try to get it to be less thirsty. if there were any clean civics on cl i would buy one and have it paid off in a month but for now im stuck with this. suggestions?
