  1. So I figured I'd throw my rear shocks on tonight and do the fronts this weekend. Upon opening the box, it had 3 different metal sleeves to go in the bushing, none of which come close to fitting the bolt. The other box had no sleeves at all. Obviously these shocks probably fit a ton of different vehicles, but my question is do I need that sleeve? My old stock electronic adjustables had no sleeve I could steal, and the bushing fits pretty snug. Am I asking for the bushings to wear out if I don't use a sleeve?

it will be fine if it is snug...

  2. time to dig out my old autocad cd's...

i might be able to keep track of it..there will be lots of measurements... although i'm not makin any templates.. considering these bumpers are flat pieces of 3/16" steel tacked and cut at different angles to get the finished product, its super easy anyways.. the welder i have, the torch i do not.. i can almost get a plasma cutter for what a torch costs nowdays too.. decisions decisions.. :/

the front winch plate looks like the starting point and they are built out from that. once the outer skin is tacked and shaped whichever way its wanted, then it needs fitted to the pathy and mounts made, the mounts will be the challenging part. once thats figured out, reinforce the outer skin on the inside, weld it all up and bam, bumper.. i have a xrc10 winch at my disposal for measurements too along with my pathy..

i think the reason tag's bumpers are off a little bit this way and that way, is that they weld it all up too fast and in doing so the steel flexes when it gets hot. that will cause the 1/8th and 1/4" problems i read about.. poor skills imo..

good thing about building your own is that knowone will have the one you have...good luck, its a lot of fun

  3. I am sorry guys... I appears that every time I say "drop down bracket" life throws something my direction. As shown in the Pathy build thread, I had to fill the garage with stuff that was in storage. Once I get this stuff sorted through and the Pathy back on wheels (setting apart on driveway) there will be time/space for these brackets.

The plan is to make a few little tweaks and find a good powder coating firm. I am approaching this as if I was the person wanting the bracket and what would I expect. To keep the powder coat price down it looks like the bigger batch the better.

If someone can't wait (needs it now and doesn't care about powder coating) speak up. As soon as I can get them together I will send them your way with a coat of rattle can black. This will happens as soon as a "free day?!?" comes along... Thanks again!

ill take one...shipped to 97504...let me know what i need to do
