  1. Heres a noob tire question, 245 is the height of the sidewall, so does that mean a 245/65/17 is taller that a 245/65/16 since that latter has a smaller rim size? Or is 245 the height of the entire tire all together?
  2. I think If i went with the EMU lift my 245's wouldnt look too terrible. Worse comes to worse i could just sell my stock wheels and the tires and try and find some used ones for cheap...decisions decisions
  3. Thats awesome, good luck with the build! Could you post some pictures before and after? That would help me out x1000000. Are you running stock tires still?
  4. Your killing me with the bigger tires comment, but a lift is in the thought process. I just hope my tires wont look like little pizza cutters with a lift.
  5. Thanks for the input, but i was considering the rola roof rack with the extension but I am going to look into SportRack. Should i purchase new cross bars with a smaller profile or will I be safe with mounting directly to the factory cross bars?
  6. You should see the inside! It's just about perfect. It wont be too long till it gets dirty. I just purchased the tires and have yet to get them off road. Im just excited to get into the modding Im thinking roof basket at christmas, and OME lift with my tax return.
  7. That's awesome, I'll try that next time I get around some jacks. Thats the bad thing about being a student; off campus apartment complex. What about the OME lift. It's not as tall of a lift but is it a noticeable .5"? I'm adding the rola roof rack soon with the extension and possibly some lights, just food for thought........
  8. So I didnt think i would need a lift a couple of months ago so i went ahead and bought new tires but the stock size, 245/65/17 (LE model). The tires are Definity Dakota AT2 and have a good tread pattern on them. My friend took up in the mountains near here and now I'm really considering a lift kit in the near future but I can't shovel out extra money for new tires again. So my question is whether or not my truck will look....unproportional....if I don't get bigger tires with my lift kit. I did some looking and it looks like my tires in metric have a 29.5 diameter. Pictures would be awesome if your running a lift with the stock tires. I was considering lifting and adding the warn hubs and possibly wheel spacers at the time of the lift as well. Thanks for your advice, -Chase
  9. Heres a better/clearer picture of the truck.
  10. I just put a set of Definity Dakota on my R50 and have put about 1000 miles on them. They ride super nice on the highway, no road noise what-so-ever. I jumped on the buy three get one free deal at pep-boys so i saved about 140 too. I was in the same boat as you but fortunately I got a bonus from work so i was able to pay for my tires myself. A little extra meat on your tires never hurt anybody.....
  11. Sorry for the pictures, I have this editing app on my phone so the photos are altered and not that great. But the truck is actually brown not silver. I'll take some photos today in the parking lot and post them later.
  12. What's up everybody my names Chase. I joined this forum to get some great first hand knowledge about my pathy and maybe some help along the way of my modifications. My hometown is Chincoteague Island, Va, but i live in Harrisonburg during the fall and winter because I attend James Madison University. So where to begin.....Well i bought my pathfinder back in March of this year (2011) and have loved since the day I saw it on the lot. I previously owned A 3rd gen 4runner and that was my baby, but the pathy is an awesome, very similar ride. Right after i bought it i had the front widow tint matched to the stock rear and had then I installed the inchannel vent visors for the windows. My future mods plan to be either the OME lift or the AC lift and some brand of a roof baskt that's still undecided as well. I'll post up a few pictures of my ride so you can see how shiny she is .
