  1. Gidday Mate, first, what sort of lift kit or did you install new TB's only? Check your steering system for twisting and tie rod angles. Also check your bump steer clearances. You should have around an inch gap. And, jack the front end so the wheels are off the ground and spin them listening for noise, good time to check end plays bushes and wheel bearings. I have been chasing problems for two years now and have finally found out what is was. LIFT KITS STRENGTHEN EVERYTHING ELSE BUT THE FACTORY EQUIPMENT. CAN CAUSE EXCESS TWISTING OF DRAGLINKS, TIE RODS PITMAN ARM AND STEERING BOX SPLINE SHAFT. hope this helps. Cheers Desertrat55
  2. Grassroots 4x4 and stop brackets would be a good start. Cheers
  3. Gidday all, Have a question for any one that may have had the same problem. Since having the lift kit installed I have not been able to do any REAL OFF roading due to DRAKLINK AND TIERODS flogging out over short distances. Have changed LOWER BALL JOINTS, TIE ROD ENDS AND THREE TIMES, THE DRAG LINK. Over the two year build I have had no fewer than 24 wheel alignments done, many retries without luck. Any one with ideas! Everything in straight and have had engineer to check the chassis rails and everything is very much new. No second hand parts and quality parts used! This time out the Draglink has lasted 300 kilometers and needs changing already. If I cannot find a fix for it you are all invited to e Terry Burn down Under. Cheers Desertrat55
  4. Mega cheers mate, I have a Bilstine spring over dampener that came of my Patro that I was forced to sell to pay for medical conditions. Now, thanks for your photo I know what to get. Won't have it on for the 4WDAction DVD shoot tomorrow, but it will be on as soon as can get the pin. Thanks again. Any chance of some recent pics of ya truck with all the armor fitted? Cheers.
  5. Thanks for the quick reply, read a post from Extreem90Path, he purchased a kit some where but didn't say where from. I have tried to find one here in Oz and they have the dampeners but do not come with instruction or fittings. There is a fitting on the drag link but no one seems to know where to mount the opposite end of the dampener. If I could find the a fitting kit I could then try to find a photo to help with the installation. Otherwise the complete system is my only option. Cheers Desertrat55
  6. Gidday all NPORA readers, I am hoping you can help. I have been trying to fine a steering damper system for my truck here in Oz but no one seems to be interested. If any one knows where I could source the kit, let me know. Cheers desertrat55
  7. Can you remove the ball joint from the hub? Fitting it to the uca will free up the hub enough to allow alignment!
  8. Is the vehicle on stands or trolley jack? Have you tried having a friend rotate the steering while you try to align the bolt holes? Put a bolt in and turn the steering, the bolt should locate, repeat for the other bolts ???
  9. Just thought mate, can you rotate the plate to align the bolt holes. I had some trouble and resolved by releasing upper control arms allowing for more access. Hope it helps Cheers Deseryrat55
  10. Giddy mate, just wondering if you could create a PDF of some of the bash ages you have made and if you kept dimensions and plate thicknesses? That's one mean truck you have!. Cheers. desertrat55

  11. Yep had the same happen in many different vehicles, not all the same fix though. Check the following for end play or vertical movement. Pitman arm upper and lower ball joints, recently i found drag link linkages to cause similar noises when applying brakes and sometimes steering into and driving out of corners. Control arm bushes for end play and finally, jack the front end up with the offending wheel off the ground and rotate listening for any unusual noises in the CV area. By the way, check for stones, screws, bolts and other items lodged in between the tread. Reminder, the source of the noise is not always located where you think it is coming from. Hope this helps. Cheers Desertrat55
  12. Gidday mate, headlights are factory with Phillips H7 Crystle Blue upgrades. They are roughly 5 times brighter than stock lights and last for about 20.000 hrs. Other light fittings are Baja 20" light bar, 35watt HID's, 100 watt flood on the rear, LED light Strips under the awning, on the rear tailgate glass and led interior lights, they last for ever and do not fail after many hour of rough terrain, also are very cost effective. Have to ask, what rubber are you running, lift kit, wheel size and off set and have to had to cut or re-shape your guards to fit the?
  13. Hi James, Check eBay Australia, Airflow Snorkel, Nissan navara, pathfinder/terrano1 S-30. easy fit, make sure kit includes the template for hole placement and make a hard copy in case it gets wet, Cheers. Desertrat55.
  14. Giddy mate, Thanks for the info. Downloaded the app had have tried to post pics. Let me know if they work! Cheers Desertrat55

  16. Hi all, I have just completed a two year build on my truck named "Little Niss". Mods include: 3" Calminie lift, Polly Air bags, Polly bushes through out, duel battery, winch bar, 9000 lb winch, 40 meters plasma raope, Baja 20" Lightbar, 35watt HID's, UHF, CD player, rod tube, Rhino bars and basket K&N, outback steel draws, 60 Liter Fridge/Freezer, high output air compressor, Cooper STT's and more. (Can't post pics from iPad) What I am interested in doing is to fit an Intercooler and after market Turbo for extra fuel economy and power. Has any club members done this to there truck and what and where they got the parts from? Little Nissis to be featured in 4WD Action mag soon and I hope to have some info to pass on to readers of the mag as to where they can source parts outside Oz. Great forum and proud Terry/Pathhy owner. Cheers. Desertrat55
