Hey Brian, I just had to give up my '98 Chilkoot because of frame rot. So I just bought a 2003 Chilkoot. It's Kevin from Brockville area. Are you still Drummin'?

  18. I bought a new rocker panel for my Chil out from Car Quest $55.00. It's a nice panel with lots of extra steel to work with - if the weather gets warmer I'll cut out the rot and get this installed.

  19. Gotta replave the rocker panels soon - any advice and links to the best parts will be appreciated.

  20. Can anyone tell me what RPM my engine shud B at in my 1998 pathfinder when driving at 115 KM or 70 MPH pls. ? I was told by my local reputable transmission shop that my automatic transmission shifts into all 4 gears but not locking up and, is therefore, revving higher than it shud at this speed. It runs at 2,300 - 2,400 rpm with Michelin LTX 235/75 R15 tires. It mysteriously and suddenly was down a liter of fluid last week - which started me looking into why. No leaks into the rad or onto the ground. It still shifts fine but I wanna know if it's working like it shud cause I'd like to save some fuel if possible. After coming back from the tranny inspection, the guy said there was some corosion on some of the contacts in the electrical connections and that it is now at 98% lock up - but I see no difference. Thanx in advance. Brian
  21. What did U clean it with? - what has to be removed to accomplish doing it? I'd like better gas mileage if possible.

  22. I tried your link - it doesn't work - where I can I see this?
  23. Thanx for all the info - I got the gas filler tube replaced thru the Nissan recall - when the mech removed the plastic cover that was over it (inside the wheel well) it was fully packed with ..fine gravel pcs and pretty rusty. I don't think U cudda got another pc of sand in there. Anyway - it's fixed and no more evap code issue...so far. On another note - they did the other recall yetsrday too - front strut repair(level 2)even tho I think it was a level 1 - they added the support bracket and actually did repairs and rust proofing on the other tower too. Dave at All Tec in Kitchener does Great werk! He's almost beside Kitchener Nissan - same building as Houghten Rust control - it was inside for over 24 hours so I had him take next door and spray it with oil - Good Deal! Now to get all the oil over spray off...when it gets above freezing outside.
  24. Thanx for the info - sorry for the late reply - I am just too busy to get to doing it rite now but I apprciate U responding to this. Thanx Again - Brian
  25. I do a lot of driving at nite - I turn my outside mirrors down to avoid being blinded by passing cars - I bought 2 small blue LED lights (like mini spot lights), that fasten with 2 sided tape, that plug into a cigarette lighter. I want to place them so they illuminate the mirror control and power window switches so I can find them in the dark. I'd like to wire them directly into a 12 volt power source and cut off the lighter plug in part of it. I'd like to get a used OEM switch that fits into the lower center dash to turn them off/ on. I need the cigarette lighter socket for my MP3 player holder /charger and currently there's no off/on for the LED lights anyway. Anyone out there know how I cud do this? PS - I suck with electrical but can solder and know how to use a electrical tester...to a point. Will the OEM swith work with these lights? PS #2 - Still can't get my rear wiper werking - it still blows fuses - I had a look at the rear wiper motor amplifier yesterday as suggested - Yep - it's black plastic! LOL how do ya test it?
