It's the arrogant mentality that comes with a lot of jeep owners that gets me. I do know that some are very capable, but they are still crappy !

The liberty has soccer mom written all over it! What gets me off is their ignorance to think that they are invincible in that thing, and then drive like maniacs to get their kids to soccer practice while on the cell phone, haha! Besides being one of the ugliest vehicles on the road, it is probably one of the worst when it comes to reliability, aren't all jeeps though? Have you ever looked at a paint job on a wrangler? How the frame starts rusting really bad? What about the quality of the interior parts? Or how it rattles like it is going to fall apart after a couple of years? I think it's more of the mentality and the following that jeep has acquired now. They aren't offroad enthusiasts anymore and probably never will be. Unless, that is what Jeep intends on changing with this "trail rated" bs. Which, we all know will rip jeep a new hole as soon as people start frying their trucks. They get a jeep for the reputation of being the crappiest vehicle ever made, or what they think "one of the most capable vehicles" baahahahahahaha! It's almost like "look at my stuff, aren't I with it for having a jeep?" The wranglers have turned into a chick truck, all you see are teenage girls driving them around with the "tom boy" theme, or guys that just want to be in the "in crowd." I think these are probably the most frustrating things for me when it comes to a jeep. How could you possibly choose a new grand cherokee over a new Pathfinder? The Pathfinder is far superior, I just don't get it. I mean the people buying them are most likely not going offroad anyway. So, the new Pathfinder would be fine for toolin around town or highway driving. At least much more so than a grand cherokee!

Oh, ok. Thanks a lot, I understand it now. I think I was looking too hard into it. It seems like an easy thing to understand, and that would have been my first assumption(splice into highbeams=lights turn on when highbeams are on etc.). I was misinformed by other people outside of this board and having never done anything like this, it made it confusing. I have all this stuff hooked up to a switch as well if that matters. So, my factory foglights are hooked up to my lowbeams I assume since, they turn off when I turn the highbeams on?

So, if I splice into the highbeam wire, my driving lights will turn off when my high beams are on, and will turn on when my low beams are on? Am I understanding this correctly? Thanks a lot for your help guys!

I understand what you are saying, it didn't make sense to me either to tap into the highbeams. The only reason I was so set on that, was because it was in the directions. Thanks a lot!

I have everything running through a relay. I have some hella 500s that require tapping into the high beams. By doing this they are supposed to turn off when you turn your high-beams on, just like the factory fog lights. This is the law so, I don't think they will turn on unless I have it wired this way.

I got everything hooked up right from what I can tell except, I am unsure of where to tap into my high beams. Which wire is for the high beam and what is the easiest way of getting at it? Thanks

It is very odd....... When I first powered the stereo up, my alarm box (under drivers seat) started making radio static or modem type noises. Then the alarm horn/siren started making weird noises, and my doors kept locking and unlocking repeatedly. Also, when I started up my truck the alarm stayed on, in fact it made the truck almost stop running. The truck starts up and runs fine now, the only problem I have is what I described in my last post. When I say my cigarette lighter was unlplugged, I mean from the wiring harness. I think it's possessed!

Well, I got the deck working just fine. This may sound a little silly, but I hadn't hooked up the cigarette lighter prior to testing. I plugged it in and everything was good. I also replaced the 'room lamp' fuse before figuring out I had to plug the cig lighter in. As soon as I did this(replaced the fuse), I started having problems with the alarm. Everytime I turn the ignition on and off the status indicator goes on constant glow and the error sound beeps once. All of the doors lock as well, and I have no clue how to fix this. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

I am in the process of installing an aftermarket deck, but am not receiving power. I went out and bought a wiring harness adapter and then an express adapter to hook into that then into deck. So, everything is definately hooked up right, and I have installed many stereos. I tried pressing the reset button on the deck and then seeing if that turned it on, and it didn't. I then replaced the amplifier fuses and the radio fuses in the fuse box and this didn't help any. There was an aftermarket deck already in there, but I wasn't satisfied with it. It worked fine and everything, but I can't get power to either one now (the one that was in there and the one I want to put in). I can't figure it out, so any help would be greatly appreciated. I just hope my deck isn't fried. I was also thinking that I might need to replace more fuses, because the the radio does effect many other things in the truck(clock etc.). I tried hooking up the harness adapter from the other deck which is not the same. The plug is the same, but the wiring is different, that's how I blew a fuse initially. The power and everything is not located in the same terminals in the plug, oops. Thanks
