  1. Ya I plan on doing my exhaust after my lift and I already did the intake

    I'm keeping the stock intake.

My offroading here sees alot of desert conditions. Hardpack, sand, etc...

I may go 'DIY snorkel' someday if I plan to hit greener areas and water crossings....especially after the day it becomes a trailer queen.

I do look forward to getting rid of the resonator and getting some more oomph from an exhaust.

  2. I used to have a 94 Chevy truck 350ci. ...another one I wish I'd kept....uggh...but I digress.

The throttle body spacer (along with the Edelbrock TBI intake) allowed the fuel to disperse more evenly before arriving in the intake. The fuel burns more efficiently since the fuel is more separated when it arrived into the intake. The intake also "forced" (breathed better than stock) more air, thus after a chip was installed on the ECM, more fuel mix was available.

This combination worked well on my TBI form of fuel delivery and I suspect, in the past, worked well with a normally aspirated (aka squirt style) injection. However, I question the results with a normal fuel injected vehicle. Again, you would need to reprogram the ECM in order to provide more fuel. Otherwise, you are simply separating (slightly, without increased air induction) the fuel. Conclusion: Same fuel + same air = same performance....MAYBE slightly better mpg (more efficient combustion)...but I would guess VERY slight. Probably not worth the investment.

With what I've learned about the Pathfinder, I would keep it simple and spend the money on a better air filter and a better exhaust. Allow the engine to breathe and exhaust more efficiently.

    (Just my $.02)

  3. You could use one of those car audio fused distribution blocks, just run what ever size positive to the distribution block and than tap off of it for what ever you need to run, something like one of these:

Looks like the audio blocks are larger gauge wiring. I don't see a need more than 12ga. I'm looking at continuous power.

Many only have 2 connections also. I assume running from an amplifier to a speaker. Thanks for bringing up the option, though. :)

  4. How do you switch between cameras?

The monitor accepts 2 video inputs.

I had a Halloween party on Saturday night and my kiddos the rest of the weekend, so no progress. I will be looking at the wiring this week and hopefully have everything functioning next weekend. I also plan to add the fusebox since I already have the glovebox off...not much room back there.

  5. The front can reach the battery, so I will put it on a switch. My plan is to be able to switch between the 2 cameras at will, so I won't be hooking up the reverse circuit. Not sure if I'll have to splice that to 12V as well. I'll be doing my homework this week.

I will silicone or liquid electrical tape the camera joints. Thanks for the tip.

    For reference.

  6. So, I was watching them on Amazon and they finally went on sale, so I splurged.

I've had this idea since having my baja bug....you come up a ridge and you don't know what's on the other side, so you get out and look. With a camera up front, you can just look at the camera for an initial judgement. If it looks hairy then you can get out and doublecheck.

    Pics.

The monitor clips on to the rear view mirror.

I'm figuring out where to connect the power....and running video wires...they're run inside the headliner and down the pass side A-pillar.

Rear camera is the typical 'bolt to the license plate' kind. I need to figure out power in the lift gate to connect also. I also want to get tamper proof bolts.

  7. I scored a full-size 33" spare off Craigslist. It has a steel wheel. The guy said something about the load rating and heavier side walls making it heavier. BFG KM2 MT.

Anyone mount oversized tires on their swing-out tire carrier?

Wondering if I'm going to need to do some reinforcement...I'm not quite ready to spring for a custom rear bumper just yet...my skid plates were next on the splurge list.
