  1. I am curious. I contacted Nissan and gave a link to the picture of the badge and VIN. Let's find out what they say.
  2. I would contact Nissan. I am sure someone there could give the answer.
  3. Great information in this thread. Is it difficult for a layman to learn how to do repairs? What is the best way to acquire this knowledge? Is taking a car repair course helpful? Can a layman with common sense look at a repair manual and figure out how to replace a part?
  4. Do they only use OEM parts? If they do use after market parts, what is the point of paying a high price to have a car repaired at a dealership? I believe I remember a dealership repair shop asking if I wanted after market brake pads for a repair. Can independent repair shops acquire OEM parts? If so, why even bother going to a dealer to have a vehicle repaired? Independent repair shops always charge less. This would be for routine repairs like a radiator or water pump. What about for more complicated repairs? Is the added cost really worth it? Do dealership repair shops charge more for OEM parts than what an independent shop would?
  5. For whatever reason, I enjoy looking at old sales stickers. I see it was bought at Harrisonburg Nissan. I went to JMU. Small world. The '96 was the first year of the new design. Did the vehicle have any problems? What is with the note in the lower right of the sticker? That is pretty expensive for a manual transmission SUV back then. Did you get this promotional video with your vehicle? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9xYnmplY0ss
  6. I am new to towing. I am going to tow a small trailer. Someone is offering to sell me the Nissan 1994 Pathfinder OEM Class II hitch. Do I need to buy a ball or does the hitch alone allow me to attach it to the truck?
  7. Air conditioning adds $1K. $27,600 makes sense. It sounds like you got a heck of a deal. Do you recall if you bought it at the end of the model year? Maybe July or August 1996.
  8. Wow. I do know the 95's went up from 94, but I didn't realize it was that much! You must have really wanted one! Can I get the breakdown on the sticker? How much did you pay if I may ask?
  9. What was the MSRP on the sticker? Can I get a breakdown of the total cost? Does anyone what the dealer invoice price was?
  10. I believe they were General Grabber ST but not sure.
  11. Those things were not cheap. Someone correct me if I am wrong. Ten years ago they were over $1,000 for a set of four.
  12. Found it. Thank you. I thought ...... ...referred to transfer and differential gear oil in both manual and automatic transmissions as opposed to tranny fluid. In the legend at the top of the page where it says means "Inspect" Next to it it says "Replace if necessary" or something like that. I wish Nissan was more clear when replacement is necessary.
  13. Am I reading this correctly? It is not necessary to change the coolant at intervals? A fried of mine just had the radiator and water pump replaced on her vehicle and she was told it was because the coolant was not replaced enough.
  14. I have a '94 and I am looking at the maintenance schedule in the owner's manual and it does not even mention changing the auto transmission fluid. I believe the '95 owner's manual is the same as the '94. Where does it mention to change the auto transmission fluid? What line on the maintenance schedule in the back does it say to change it? If anyone else knows, that would be great.
  15. I have a 94 SE. The owners manual suggests replacing the engine coolant every 60K miles initially (or 4 years), then 30K. My vehicle is way past 60K, but doesn't waiting 60K miles (4 years) seem alike a long time? Can't that cause problems with the water pump and or radiator? It doesn't mention flushing the engine coolant. It is my understanding that flushing the coolant every two years is important. What is the difference between flushing and replacing engine coolant. How often should I do a flush? I have seen a lot of different information about this. Some say replacing the coolant should be done every year, which actually makes sense to me. Some two years.
  16. When I searched the forums, I only found a PDF for the service manual. Not the owner's manual.
  17. I don't know what I was thinking saying that. Apologies.
  18. They are available on E-bay, but wanted to find out if it is available in PDF anywhere. Supplements as well. > Warrenty Guide > Alarm manual > Maintenance manual
  19. Hi I am new to this board. I have a 1994 Patfhinder SE black. Question #1: They are my all time favorite wheels, including aftermarket. Question #2: My least favorite wheels are the same ones without the caps. (Apologies if anyone on this board has them.)
