  1. Soo, in the past few days I have noticed when I am making a hard right at low speeds there is a click or almost a pop from my right front wheel. My first thought was bearing, but it's not constant and not all the time. If I am sitting still and crank the wheel there is nothing.

I'll probably take it to a shop tomorrow, but any ideas?

    Thanks

  2. I made a temporary cup holder while in the work of making nicer ones.

I was told a soup can fits a cup well..... It does

This was the only spare metal I had laying around, it was to support the maf, but I had a better one made.

It hooks on the bottom of the driver seat and sits between my legs perfectly. Bordem can be fun.

  3. Had a buddy at the engine while I was tryin to start it yesterday. He sad there was a small puff of smoke off the negative battery terminal when it clicked. The click, I'm not sure where that was from. But from what you said maybe its just cables. I'll try that out. Thanks.

  4. So, I changed the cap and rotor, everything was going fine. But when I went to start it, it clicked once and nothing happened. After playing with the new rotor, because I know it has to line up properly with everything, I got the truck started again. Let it sit overnight. Today I went to start it because I work soon and nothing, the clock goes dead and the power in the truck is lost. I take off the negative cable, played with the cap a little bit, re-attach the negative cable and it starts..... By play with the cap I mean I hit it with the side of my hand and cursed it out.

In the back of my mind I'm hoping I don't have to pull the distributor and reset everything to TDC, it was working fine example prior to me changing it, just trying to do preventative maintenance.

    Thanks :scratchhead:

  5. It won't make any difference on yours. The manual hub swap is for r50s that have full time drive flanges so their cv axles are always spinning.

Fair, thanks. I'm trying to talk my buddy into buying a 95 se. I don't live in Ottawa anymore adam, but ill let you know next time I bring my truck to town.

  6. I ordered headers for mine online, then grabbed a magnaflow cat and muffler. I took it to a shop and had them just fab up new pipes to replace everything.

What site did you use and which shop? I'm in Burlington, I'm thinking that I'll be going to a speedy muffler or something like that. Not a lot of custom shops here.

  7. Getting exhaust for these trucks is actually no fun.

I can't figure out a way to clamp it up either. Nissan originally used some weird clamps that are glued to some rubber which was bolted to the frame. Can't get the old broken clamps out, and don't know where to get new clamps.

Agreed. But you can buy the stock hangers online, I was looking at them today as I have a broken one. Rockauto.com I think I was on.

  8. Then timing belt / water pump were done 50000kms ago. Not time yet I'd say, all the ignition system I have just replaced. When it comes to hoses and vac lines, is there a set or do I buy each individual? Sorry I may be dumb, last ride was an integra, I could find parts for that with my eyes closed. I sort of enjoy the hunt for parts, but there are no scrap yards near me. I'll have to drive closer to Toronto I guess.

I'm thinking new exhaust for better air flow, any suggestions?

  9. Is there a site or store that will sell me an exhaust system or do I have to buy all parts separate and build my own system. Please keep in mind I live in Canada...

Starting to really get into doing the work myself. Major scare when the engine wouldn't start today but fixed that, damned rotor spun out of place while I replacing it.

  10. I don't have a NAPA locally but I usually go to The Parts Source. No problems yet and they're fast. I avoid Canadian Tire like the plauge. I ordered a tire for my ATV from them 16 years ago and it still isn't in.

Canadian Tire owns part source. But I goto both of those if I need a part asap.

  11. Hahahaha ya that is pretty bad. After work today I'll be bleeding my clutch system, changing break pads that I've had in the back seat for a month, changing the oil and cleaning the air filter. Hooray for daylight savings time!

I was told that I should probably bleed my clutch since I have had it replaced when going up hills shifting from second to third she slips sometimes; "you might have air in the lines" I was told. How hard is a fluid change?

  12. So, I've had "black betty" for just over a year now, and it has been love hate all along. I have finally decided that I'm going to keep her, so it is time to do some work. I recently took off the wheel well rust, and bondo'd painted, etc. Today I changed out the spark plugs and wires to all NGK stuff. I bought the belts to do those soon, but wondered what else you guys would suggest.

I don't need a lift since its a daily driver, but might look into 31's soon. Any suggestions would be great, thanks.
