  1. I've never heard of the mirrors cracking in the cold. Maybe they had ice behind them?

     

    Me Neither. Both were cracked one morning last week. One vertically, one Horiztonally. At least its getting warm enough to work on the truck!

     

    93, 94, 95 models had a heated/power mirror option.

     

     

    Sounds like a number of you have done this swap - Is the wiring in the doors the same? or would my non heated SE be missing a harness.

  2. Yeah I'm not sure I understand that either. Your restriction point in the end should be the throttle body and nothing else. I guess I can see large diameters MAF setups having problems reading the much smaller amount of air passing through them that our VG's use.....

     

  3. My gas mileage did not improve, nor decline with a VG33. I did get a chance recently to drive a five speed truck on the street and I definitely prefer its drivability over the automatic.

     

    If you wanted to get crazy with it, I believe the five speed was used in several cars as well, maybe you could mix and match the gear ratios you want by tearing in to the transmission.

     

    I just drove my dads SE-V6 4x4 D21 with a 5 speed and it was way more responsive then my WD21 with the slushbox. it was also doing ~3300RPM on the highway, whereas mine attempts to loaf alone at 2500RPM but doesn't really have the power... so is typically doing 4000 RPM in third lol :pullhair: l

  4. :headwall: Please don't tell me it's an auto! People in rush hour traffic are really going to be pissed when there's a transmission scattered all over the road! :stickwack:

    Absolutely its auto. Oh btw the Torque converter wont unlock below about ~32F when the tranny is cold. Aka I neutral drop it nearly every morning in the winter to leave my parking spot LOL.

     

    Seems to hold up....

     

    But in all seriousness. I had experienced the problem for years and knew what to do, somewhat safely. Putting my girl in that situation though...No bueno.

    you have multiple problems yet it never stops running, and you probably will never ever end up selling it.....

    (cause you love it, or no one is gonna buy it)

     

    Definately the latter. I think the rims/tires I have on it are worth more then the whole dang truck LOL.

  6. I notice many of you run comparatively high (20+ PSI) off road. May I ask why? I typically run between 12-15. The ride is vastly superior (especially with the 9000XL's on 0), the tire grabs much better, and I've never blown a bead yet. Though I have watched someone do the ether and lighter trick :)

  7. The kicker was when it died in rush hour on my girlfriend. She fully stopped it in the middle of the road, put it in park, started it, and drove off. Im sure the people behind her were pleased....

     

    I then showed her the "throw it in neutral while its still rolling, wood the pedal, start and slam into gear" trick :) (and bought the part)

    As mentioned, nothing new. BUT, this has brought it back into discussion for newer members so see :aok:

     

     

    One of these days I might make one, I've just never had much of the symptoms or any of the provblems others have described.

     

    I bought it about 6 months ago and just had neglected to put it on. Wouldn't have thought such a slight angle difference would have mattered on the panhard - but I was impressed.

  9. Ac makes a kit. I bought it and found it had too much play in it. Clunked a lot. I ran without sway bars and only one bumpstop for awhile. Add in some torn rear bushings and holy cow these get flexy haha. Anyway. When I had the disconnects off I didn't know what to do with the sway. I'd tend to tie to the frame on one side. Sometimes that line snapped. Which made life interesting. Read you stopped very fast. It didn't work. I've also played with the idea of using a Cherokee sway bar and mounting it at the frame level with arms going down like the jeeps do. In the end I just threw it back on and really, it flexes enough for what I do.

    I've had the intermittent poor idle/stalling issue for years, and have narrowed it down the infamous MAF sensor harness ground.

    I know this effects quite a few people, and many have simply wired in a new ground. While I am a proficient soldierer(?) and am quite happy running wires, I decided to order the official NIssan fix for the issue as specified in the TSB.

     

    Alkorahil got me the part number :

    ENGINE SUB HARNESS

    $20.39

    What you get is this. Its basically an inline adapter with a ground wire coming out of it. HOWEVER - it is OEM quality wiring and I like that. (insert bad ground joke here...)

    You simply disconnect the MAF from your harness, and install this sucker in line. I simply grounded it to an available open bolt. Seems to be working well!
    Sorry no pictures installed - broken camera. The one thing it does seem to be missing is an mount of some kind. the end of the harness looks to be setup to held by something - it just kind of dangles by the airbox.
  11. Yeah mine have been torn for years. Haven't failed on me yet....knock on wood. As soon as I put new CV shafts in, they tear again. I need to drop my diff. This last set tore on both sides RIGHT where it was clamped to the shaft, so the actual boot is basically intact - the grease really can't go anywhere (except out along the shaft...not happening when its spinning!!!)

     

    Anyway, if your stock you should probably replace them at some point and they will last...

    I have been fighting torn rear suspension bushings for like 4 years in my pathfinder, and the rear just always rode rough. Its got a 3inch AC lift on it. Extended Springs, and Extended shocks, and that's about it. Sway bar is currently ON - though I had it off for ~30,000 miles.

    This is a panhard drop. it bolts to the frame of your truck, and lowers the end of the panhard (where it bolts to said frame) to make it level again. My Panhard went from quite an angle to basically perfectly level.

     

    I've had this lift on this truck for the last 80,000 miles and noticed an immediate HUGE difference when I put this on. The rear no longer jolts to the side when going over a bump on road, or expansion seams on the highway... it reduces head toss, and makes it far more comfortable to drive over rough surfaces - far more planted I also don't notice nearly the axle movement with relation to my torn rear bushings. I can now manipulate throttle and feel the rear shift slightly (so I know they are torn) but no more clunking!!!!

     

    Anyway, I am super impressed and would recommend if you've lifted the rear and NOT dropped the panhard to be level to buy one these. you'll be amazed. My panhard is now level, as it was from the factory. DANG i wish my camera worked!!

     

    I know GrandpaX also made these, but I do believe he no longer does (nor does he frequent this site) - so I think AC is the only game in town at the point.
