  1. Thanks much for posting this, I have to say, it looks like alot of fun, I'm seriously contemplating doing this, if only for the simple fact that it would be fun. Not to open that can of worms, but I really have to wonder what power would be like compared to the later EFI as well - guessing it would still be more, and you can have fun with some more radical cams too. Anyway, I mentioned the distributors to mr. 510 via his ebay store (when asking about this manifold) and he said they [Davis Unified] was predicting 6 weeks out yet until these are ready, and that he would be a distributor (no pun intended) as well.
  2. Thanks for the reply, interesting on the disclaimer, even thought they do fit both, and I found another thread here which lists the "2-c's) that's my bad, should have searched more: http://www.nissanpathfinders.net/forum/topic/34418-my-new-doug-thorley-headers-clamp-size/ And here's the ebay listing I found with a very competitive price: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Doug-Thorley-THY-464-2-C-Silver-Ceramic-Coated-Exhaust-Headers-/380539012478
  3. Sorry to drag up an older thread but I'm seriously contemplating going this route. Thanks for posting the vid, I have a '95, same color, what's the mfg p/n, THY-464-2-C? And where did you get them? Only finding THY-464-1-C (pre '90) on summitracing, but the 2C's are on ebay for about the same price. And it was difficult to tell, but yours sounded like a manual, but the Thorley website says "19- Does not fit 5-speed models w/ hydraulic clutch."
  4. I wish I would have watched this first, my '95 WD21 behaved identically, took me a good 1/2 hour to figure it out. The instructions threw me off a bit because per them, only the VG30i behaves this way and has a toggle swtich, not a screw, and doesn't specify returning to normal position after the 3 flashes. Regardless the info was still invaluable, thanks to the OP!
  5. Draggin up an old post, I may be inheriting my in-law's Pathy, was curious what you guys were doing exhaust-wise, looks like pretty much the same reccomendations as the z-car crowd - single for the street. Anyway, my main reason for posting is the aforementioned x-pipe. This is yet another V8 thing that does not apply to V6's. It comes down to exhaust pulses, the sixes have the luxury of pulses every other bank, whereas the V8's have a stacked pulse - "180 degree" V8 headers are the ultimate fix for this. Long story short, IMO an x-pipe on a true dual V6 has a greater potential of hurting performance rather than helping.
  6. Thanks so much for the input guys! I took it for a test drive today, certainly has a mind of its own in 4WD HI. Put all 4 on jack stands and had him cycle the 4WD a few times, the hubs seem to engage/disengage fine, CV's look good - no boot tears or play. With that said there's definitely play in both the center link and the passenger inner tire rod for sure, the rest is suspect, I'll be ordering a complete steering kit, had this in mind, what do you guys think?: http://www.ebay.com/itm/NISSAN-PATHFINDER-93-95-CENTER-LINK-TIE-BALL-IDLER-/350469400425?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&vxp=mtr&hash=item51999aa769 On a side note as a thank you, I feel a bit foolish sharing this but thought some may find it interesting. My affinity for Nissan stems mostly from my 240/280Z road racer, although I did own a '96 2wd Hardbody at one time too. I find a comfortable familiarity with the Pathy - which is a nice and clean California vehicle, anyway the Z is Blue #99: http://www.classiczcars.com/photopost/showgallery.php?ppuser=9538&username=preith
  7. Hello everyone, Happy New Years. Long time 'lurker', first time poster, great tech info here which has helped me greatly in the past. First, my apologies if this has been covered, I did search but couldn't find anyone describing the same symptoms previously. My brother owns a WD21 and as the resident "mechanic" in the family I'm forced to fix it for him, but being a Nissan guy at heart I don't mind working on it too much. Anyway I'll try my best to reiterate second hand the problem. It's been a very mild winter here in Wisconsin this year, we just got our first measurable snowfall today and of course he didn't think until now to try the 4WD. The main issue appears to be the vehicle wandering or pulling, mainly on wetter portions of the roads whereas snowcovered don't seem to be as bad. I suspect one of the auto-hubs is not engaging, thoughts? Also, this one has me scratching my head. He also said he had a "one time" issue backing up while in 4WD Hi, what he described as a "sputter" and then finally engaging. Am I correct to assume 4WD disengages when in reverse automatically? It's not an issue while in 2WD, so I'm hoping it's not a trans and/or transfercase issue. He'll be coming over tomorrow for me to check it out but I'd like to get some ideas prior. Any input is much appreciated!
