  1. Well i am cheap and decided i could fix it myself. So after cutting up and old bed liner and tearing out the console i cut the rubber to size and put it all back together. Just got back from a drive and my leg was not burning from the hot air coming out and i could barely hear the broken exhaust studs! Ahhh! Redneck engineering.
  2. Yeah I did the 4 low lock in today. And your right that's pretty cool! We got alot of dry and wet gravel banks down here to 4 wheel on and they can bounce you around pretty good. Nice to know that will stay locked in! Yeah I need that boot bad! Cruising at 70 today you can watch the boot fill up with air....looks like a leather ballon!
  3. As for the floor boot, yeah, mine is shot and I have never seen one in a wreck that was good. I went Red Green on mine and just covered the space with duck tape the leather upper boot covers it. Hmmm.....Duct tape. Yet another use, and the silver color will make it look so custom! HAHA!
  4. Yeah my wife being the optimistic one says " at least you'll be warm in the winter" funny stuff.
  5. Ahhh...that's why the leather one is so flimsy! Yeah underneath it is nothing except linkage and road.
  6. The one inside the truck. And I think I would prefer a rubber one.
  7. Looking for a transfer case shifter boot. Mine is ripped and letting air in. Do they make a aftermarket part or do I need to go junkyardin?
  8. I like the dark blue. It's kinda hard to believe my paint is 16 yrs old!
  9. Mine did that too. So took the MAF off and cleaned it and it seemed to work better.
  10. My exhaust is noisy to say the least. Cruising about 65 down the highway it sounds like open header dumptruck! So being new to these i searched around under the hood and found the two front passenger side exhaust studs broke off. Nice! So how hard would this be to fix? I am a machinist and know how to get them out(have broken the occasional tap off at work). I'm guessing the water jacket is prob pretty close to the studs so i bet this will be a super fun job. Anyways any tips, tricks or should i just live with it and screw the neighbors for looking at me sidways everytime I drop the hammer down.
  11. Yeah I made sure the window lock was not on. I took the whole switch out of the door and disconnected it, checked it for dirt reconnected it and it worked. So maybe just a bad connection?
  12. So took the kids out in the new pathfinder to get inspected and tags put on. Its a hot hot day here in Missouri and the a/c belt was squawking and it seemed to be putting a load on the engine, so were persevered and just rolled down the windows. On the way home it started looking dark off in the direction for home then all of a sudden it started pouring! So i went to hit the window switch and it wouldn't roll up! Are you kidding me! So we made our first family memory by having driving rain coming in on all sides hitting us at 60 mph. Like i said good times! Any ideas on the switch? The power lock button works but nothing on the window switches. And also why would my a/c comp be putting that kind of a load on the engine? It idles around 500 or so with it on.
  13. WOW! Thanks Dr.Bill for that info...and the pics, really a great thread! If this much info was given on more things i wouldn't hesitate working on anything. And hailing from the "ShowMe" state pictures help...HarHar!
  14. Hey fellas. Just had some questions. I've searched old threads and it seems my AT pathfinder needs to have a better trans cooler put on. I know this is something I could install but I'd like some info on installation, and maybe some pictures of an install. Also where should I look for a t cooler and how much is a decent price. My new pathfinder is frame rust free and I look forward to fixing some minor things on it to get it running well.
  15. Well i did my first CEL code check today and i have to say it went really smooth. The fact that you can do your own troubleshooting on the vehicle is a definite bonus! Anyways after several attempts of checking code... clearing code to make sure i didnt goof the test up it would give me a 55 showing no malfunction and then after i started it and let it run the CEL would come back on and then i would check it and get a code 51. This confuses me because the pathy seems to run just fine! Starts right up idles smooth, drives down the road just fine. So my next Q's is what do i check now? Also was having speedo issues...after 30 mph the speedo goes crazy! So i took the advice of several on here and took the cluster apart and tightened screws and checked solder. Everything in the cluster seemed fine but speedo is still freakin. These few little probs are the only thing plaguing the pathy right now...im just really impressed with how she goes down the road. This is my first Nissan and so far im pretty impressed! So any help on this would be greatly appreciated and again this forum ROCKS!
