  1. Just watching the miles tick by on the odometer each time you fill up is not a reliable measure of the MPG your truck is getting. You have to divide the total miles driven by the total gallons of gas added at each fill up to get an accurate measure of MPG. I know it is a pain, but I have a log book I keep in my glove box and fill it out with the miles driven and gallons added at each fillup.
  2. I have similar towing question, but about my '97 pathfinder if anyone cares to chime in... http://npora.ipbhost.com//index.php?act=ST&f=7&t=12132
  3. I have a '97 4X2 pathy with the auto trans and have been contemplating towing for some time now. I have a 21' Sea Ray boat; the whole rig weighs about 4500-5000 pounds. The towing cap. according to the manual is 5000 pounds. I have an electronic brake controller installed. I am not concerned about fuel milege. I have done several small tow tests around town with it and it handles fine, just slow. I have everything set up right, the trailer and truck sit level. What I am really concered with is how the pathfinder will hold up. I would like to install a trans temp gauge as I know heat is the major killer of auto transmissions. Currently, it has the factory auxilary trans cooler inline with the trans cooler built into the radiator. Anyone's thoughts on this? I was reminded about my dilema by this thread: http://npora.ipbhost.com//index.php?act=ST&f=6&t=12085&st=0
  4. I have the FSM manual I downloaded off the interent but I need the foldout page for the electrical section (last foldout page). Does anyone have it or know where I can get it?
  5. I have an XE, where does that compare to an LE and SE
  6. Looking at the AMSOil product line, I really like the idea of having the full flow and by-pass filering in one simple mount with two separate spin on filters.
  7. I have seen people talk about the oil filter relocation kits for the pathfinder. I, however, can not find anything when I search for it. I have a 1997, is it available for mine? Where can I get it? Edit: I found a relocation kit on summit racing. Has anyone had any success with these? What are peoples' experience with using a setup like this?
  8. Does anyone have pictures of this setup?
  9. What is the purpose of dual fuel gauges?
  10. I have a 1997 path. I would just like these for when I get involved in projects. I heard the parts list can be a good reference tool. I saw them posted online, but only through '95. I didn't want to have to pay for one on ebay. As for the foldout, I want to know what information it contains.
  11. This link has the same problem my other manual does. The foldout page is not there. http://www.xplorx4.com/Singapore/220538%20...PDF/foldout.pdf I also need a parts list for the 1997 model.
  12. I am looking for the parts list and the full electrical diagrams for my pathfinder. I found the parts list up to 95. I also need the electrical diagrams. I downloaded the FSM from http://www.phatg20.net/modules.php?name=Do...download&cid=76 but it did not have the fold out electrical diagram. Can anyone help me out?
  13. 97,000 miles dont really track fuel brands. if i think about it, i usually fill up at a phillips 66 fuel economy is strong with ~17 in town, ~19 highway stock air filter system with a wix filter
  14. I am not able to subscibe to threads that I want to keep after. what do I need to do? I tried looking under my controls and clicking "track this thread" but nothing works.
  15. Are there any performance chips out there that are worth purchasing? I would like a hp improvement. I need one for my 1997 auto trans pathy. Recomendations would be great.
  16. I went to clean my throttle body butterfly today because of the dreaded "pedal stick". However, when I went to clean it, i noticed the entire upper intake manifold, and I assume all the way down to the valves is coated in the black gunk. What causes this? I am not having a problem with oil consumption. I don't mind cleaning the stuff, it just seems to me to be a problem with this much goo coating the intake surfaces
  17. Has anyone had any experience with the performance chips found on ebay: item #1 item #2 are they worth it?
  18. I was affraid the trans was different. What can I expect the difference in value to be between a 2wd and 4wd vehicle with all else being equal? Meaning, how much should i expect to shell out if I sold my pathy and bought an identical, but 4wd unit?
  19. I recently aquired a '97 XE 2wd. The only thing I dislike about it is the 2wd. I would like a 4wd vehicle. Would it be cheaper to convert it a stock 4wd pathfinder or sell mine and purchase one. I tried the search function to no avail. I am interested in just a straight swap to the factory Nissan parts. What am I going to be getting into? Will need to just drop in the transfer case, new front 4wd end, or are there many parts that aren't 2wd to 4wd compatable? I realize I would need to source a new console for the inside and a transfer case, driveshafts, plus the additional 4wd parts.
