How do I know if I need to replace my timing belt?
Hud replied to BobLoblaw's topic in 90-95 WD21 Pathfinders
Whenever I buy a used car with a timing belt, UNLESS I get proven receipts of the timing belt being changed, I just always spring for the change... Its hard to tell on a belt unless it was really recent..... maybe check out the water pump also... see if thats newer... But all in all I would say just change it....better than changing an engine... -
And this one is the through the wheel well... Does'nt look like its coming down from anywhere..

I've got a oil leak which I thought was the oil pressure sensor but turns out its not... Could it be the rear main or does it have something to do with my oil pan... This is where it looks like its coming from...Sorry for the blur... its the backside of the oil pan where it meets the tranny... And this is under neath that And this is of the other side of the pan... bone dry

Break the rest of the glass out and take it to a local glass shop or a place that does windsheilds .... They should be able to just fit it with a new piece of mirror.... I did it when I had my hard body...

On my old 1995 pathfinder (which I still have and am selling) the turning radius is much better than my new 1995.... I thought there was a way to adjust it but my friend who is a mechanic said theres not.... Its weird to me that my old one is so much different from my new one... Does anyone know some tricks to this... Much appreciated... I'll take some pics to show the difference and post them... THIS IS OF THE NEW ONE THIS IS THE OLD ONE.... NOTICE THE DIFFERENCE IN THE SPACE OF THE TWO

Alright so naturally after I posted this I found that thread I had been looking for... And it seems that the HB is the way to go... Does anyone know where to find this damn thing... I'm allover the internet and can't find the shifter anywhere... Thanks heres the link just in case anyone else needs it... http://www.nissanpathfinders.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=5325

So I started a body lift with a buddy of mine and he's finishing it up as I write this... But he's ran into a problem with the transfer case shifter and not having enough room to move into 4L... with out cutting into the console.... I thought I remember reading something about bending the shifter but can't find it again and he's done a little research himself and he came up with buying a shifter out of a hardbody because its longer and angled differently... Will this work or is it as simple as bending it?? Thanks....

Exhaust manifold bolt busted? Need a head job?
Hud replied to Xmas's topic in 90-95 WD21 Pathfinders
I'm not a mechanic or anything... but just from experience I've had two pathfinders with the same problem and had each one fixed at a different shop... and I've never heard of a rebuild as an option... no ones ever mentioned that to me.... they just replace the broken studs and charge me modestly... -
I got it... picks soon to come... I don't know about the anti freeze in the tranny fluid mixing??? But taking it to a good guy so he'll shoot me straight on the damage...

Yah i guess I did... Never hurts to get advice though... Thanks for the lead Felon.. I'm already taking this one... but that can't be a bad choice either... So I guess I will be saying goodbye to the truck that started this whole obsession.. As much as hate to... Can't start a collection like Slick... LA does'nt allow it... NO room... So I posted a thread in For Sale... Thanks again all...

Yah it has no reverse right now... and theres nothing else that I can tell that is wrong, no rust, engine's obviously good(@120,000) all service records... I'm down in California, no rust in SoCal... The tranny like I said that I rebuilt in my Pathy I have right now costed about 1800, and so I'm pretty sure thats what this one will run me.. so for 3500 I'm thinking its a steal also.... especially how friggin clean it is.... gotta love one owners
-
Yah, exactly I had my auto rebuilt on the one I have right now a year ago and it ran right around that... so all in all this truck would end up costing me about 3500... but its so clean!!!

I found a 1995 SE with 120,000 miles , one owner(a lady), very clean and well taken care, the only major problem is the trannny went out.. she lost reverse but all others work fine... now from my own experience I know that can get expensive, but its such a nice truck Any suggestions on repair or just generally do you think its a good deal... she was asking $2300 but I told her I would give her $1700 ... Thanks

Yah exactly, I'll try that ... Thanks JJ

hey all, just wondering if anyone knows where to find the bushing cups for these things.. i found a kit for a pickup, 2nd from the bottom. http://www.autopartswarehouse.com/search/?...4294967013+6988 but they said it won't fit... Anyway mine rusted and broke off so I need to replace it but just having trouble finding it... Also need to replace my upper and lower links in the rear... And on and on and on it goes! thanks
-
Thanks for the advice everyone... Even though it maybe a little pricey I think I'm gonna go for it and hook it up with zerk fittings... pics soon to come

If I have the money to spend is the Calmini suspension kit a durable choice?.... I've searched and read several things about Calmini, listened to Steve's recorded conversation and heard mixed reveiws about their customer service but have not really found anything that says there products are poorly made or cheap... So I called them up today to feel it out and the guy was nothing but cool...now this could be only because I'm a potential buyer but not the feeling I got... So what do you think... If I have the money and my buddy is doing the work for me, is this the better route to take for ease of installation as well...? Thanks

Everytime I get on the freeway and get past about 45-50 my trucks rear end wobbles back and forth... I feels like it's gonna roll at any moment. Any ideas what this could be. I looked at everything and it looks ok?????????????????

I bought some 15x8 MT Classic's and the backspacing is 4.25.... Anyway it rubs just about everytime I turn and especially when I'm wheelin and bouncing and turning.. Any suggestions other than the obvios of a lift...? i also maxed out my T-Bars but I think they are bad because the front end keeps lowering through time.. Thanks
