oh and thats 3000rpms in fifth gear...also i think i may be a few teeth short or something because when i shift from fourth to fifth it only drops about 200 rpms is this normal?

im having a similar problem, my pathy is getting between 140-150 pre half a tank and thats highway only i was wondering if any of you are getting the same? plus im at 3000 rmps for just 65-70 mph im only running 31inch tires are your rpms similar

well the one i had wasnt a trail master it was performance accesories and i had to do some fab work on it

i wouldn't attempt it simply because you HAVE to have it done and done the right way within a weekend this is something you want to take your time and make sure its done correctly theres a few problems people run into while lifting their pathys there is always SOME fabrication required usually welding and fabricating you own brackets or extensions or something or the sort

i use a millermatic for all my mig but i perfer to hone my tig skills

your not the last i still have mine i think theres just a little too much body roll then im comfortable with i have the fron off and when i know im gonna be hittin a rocky trail i just disconnect one side and it gives me the flex and keeps it outta the way

thank you for the alternative problems just the thought of having to rebuild my trans gives me nightmares. im pretty sure my hubs are unlocked i still have the stock automatic ones i put my truck in reverse and back up about 15 feet and no click so i assume they are unlocked. what should i look for if it would be the diff?"

thank you now i understand it completly the only thing is its kinda of awkward since the interlock button is on the right side of the whell and so is the key really no way to hold the wheel (since my interlock button doesnt stick i have to hold it down and turn the key)

can you please give me an example of how and when this button would come into play?

i think its the trans because it only makes the noise in 1st-3rd gear forth and fifth doesnt make the sound i dont know why it would be the transfer case cause the 4wd isnt engauged

my mistake it does say 3.6 in the manual. so if my trans is already making the whining noise will topping off my case to 5.1 make it stop or will i have to have it rebuilt still?

i went and bought some new gear oil today and im about to drain the trans and refill it but the thing is if this is such a problem why didnt nissan reconize it? im not trying to say im a nissan guru or anything because im obviously not im just wondering why the bulletin is from autozone and not nissan. i also have a hayes manual and it says the 1990 and on models take 3.6 and my truck a 1988 only takes 2.4liters im sort of worried about "over filling" my trans because i dont want to bust any sels or anything

i was worried about this my pathy makes a winding up sound in 1-3 gear but not 4-5 so instead of replacing the tranny i can just tilt the truck and pour in more oil???? is this true?

thank you yeah i drive it in 2h but the noise sounds like its coming from the front end its like its winding up but its only in 1-3 not i 4-5 so withthe interlock i can start it in gear? without the clutch disengaged? what the point in that?

i installed headers and i ran into the same exact problem but i solved mine with a 3 inch body lift it clears alot of the issues with the headers

Thank you sooo much another thing, when i have my four wheel shifter in neutral and try to put my truck in gear it goes nowhere is this normal? i thought the neutral on the four wheel shifter was for the tranfercase and frontdiff. also my pathy makes a winding noise while i drive in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd but not in forth or fifth can you please help me with this problem. oh btw i have a 88 pathy its stick with doug thourley headers and a 3 inch body lift, its not much but its a good start

can anyone fill me in on what this little button/switch does? i just bought a 1988 pathfinder crashed it and rebuilt it and cant seem to figure i out kinda a stupid question but i would like to know know thank you

yeaaaah. im currently undergoing that horror story. hte thorleys are hitting the drivetrain any advice besides heating em up with a hand torch and bending it haha
