  1. DUDE they are SOOOO back in here in the San Francisco Bay Area!!! The only change is the vans now have 22 inch rims and it's mostly the hip hop crowd that drives them now. But same visor on the windshield, same side fiberglass running boards, same custom side windows, etc etc! I am telling you, maybe not the rest of the Country, but California (Bay area and SoCal) they got some weird reocurring fads out here. Pathy's however are timeless!
  2. Fellows, porque DOS FILTROS ? mejor que UN FILTRO? Just to hold a little more o que???
  3. Gracias Beastie. Going on your tip I fond yours which are Deutsch made for 94 in a light tint and some LUND made ones (they say AVS) for 64 in smoke. any one else have either one of these? also a bug deflector (I like the look on Nunya and Edicer2's trucks )
  4. DID YOU GUYS NOTICE OUTSIDE THE USA, places like Canada, Oz, NZ, etc it's letters out and in the USA it's letters in!?!? We did letters out in the 60's 70's and early part of the 80's. I am sure letters out will come back to the U.S. what with this big trend of 15 year old kids wearing 70's and 80's clothing, hair cuts, driving around 78 z-28's and other stuff i remember from when I was growing up. ids wearing Ramone's Dead Kennedy's Black Flag, Black Sabbath t-shirts! so i think in 5 years the U.S. will be white letters out, but for now, black is better, look cleaner.
  5. I think I am not but I think I may pass by Santa Cruz over the long weekend.. I will keep you posted. Not sure ye, tell your buddy i want that brush guard if he still has it, next month for sure, (for me to go and pick it up).
  6. Good job brotha! I am looking forward to the review and then I can get my own copy. I will most definitely get out there soon, I have to get used to driving a stick first! hah ha hah but I have been riding motorcycles since 17 so i think after day 1 jitters I will master shifting the Pathy. Then we can hit some trails!
  7. any U.S. sources for the wind deflectors (in channel) that let 'air in and keep the rain out'? amy preferred brands? I figure in channel is better but if you feel otherwise let me know and if you like yours etc... i know of ventshade but I know there are other sources.
  8. NO worries, we'll go later. I will just hang around here and go walk the dogs in the many creeks and trails here. Take the wife out to Dinner for her Birthday / Wedding Anniversary!
  9. Money changes (unexpected bills) and so my Vegas trip is cancelled. (10 hour drive from San Francisco). I still have Thursday and Friday off and need to get out of the house. I should have the Pathy picked up by then so I really wanted to A, drive it on a little road trip, B see what the wheeling is like and C go camping with the wife... So.... Hollister Hills SVRA (in California) is only about 1.30 hours from here and I was hoping someone knew if there was available camping during the Labord Day weekend. Or even before, since I am off on Thurs and Friday.... I can camp those two days and avoid the big crowds. If it's open I would love to meet any other Pathy owners out there, or on the way! Gus.
  10. Seeing that it happened to Steveo here, maybe we can be proactive and figure out a simple weld on mod / cage (even under the vehicle) that would protect the footwell? When I first saw the head on collision picture, it made me feel good, because it did the job perfectly, crumple zones worked perfecty, and look at the windshield and even the driver window, not broken, which means the inpact stayed in front of the passager compartment... That is what they were designed to do! Then I read Steve's post and think, maybe if hit at an angle the geometry does not work as well... (which is not mandated by the government (YET)). BUt then, like on alot of the Jeeps I saw and even on my brother's 68 camaro, you can reinforce the area with some tubing, and create a subframe if you will, or a mini cage.... I remember Jeep guys would tie in their side rock bars (sliders) with plates and bolts through the floorpan and onto a cage, so it became one solid unit. Maybe we can weld up some bar or even flat steel under the footwheel and to the frame, or to a tranny mount (I do not know the vehicles enough yet to know what goes where)... I would just hate for my passanger (or myself) to get our legs messed up if we did not have to. Any ideas? All you custom fab guys and gals? mine is (will be) a 90 Pathy 4 door FYI, so I do not know if there is any kind of reinforced area in the footwell.
  11. Hi team! Still have not picked up my Pathy. Get paid on Monday (was hoping today) will go and pay off the rest and pick it up and go get it registered etc... Anyway, i remember reading some folks would get a MAP light from a 95 WD21 and put it on their 90. Something about the wiring already being there just neeed the part... Well there is a guy on craigslist getting rid of his 94 Pathy and is selling odd bits for cheap, so I figured if he has it, I can get it... but I don't even know where it goes... Does the 90 4 door NOT have a map light? Anyone got pics? Cheers, Gus. In my advanced search for pics I saw lots of mods for overhead consoles, troubleshooting some lights, but not this simple mod.
  12. Make a bigger post of that run because I (depending on finance and other things, and a few other NorCal guys may make the trip up to Washington... (if not this year, definitely next year for the MR JIM RUN !!
  13. search for a post about some thing about removing the bezel and clean out some contacts and it makes all the lights come on... I am sure some one will chime in...
  14. I asked recently and was told to search but also got some great advice right away. Here is the scoop, the factory amps will work with your aftermarket stereo but if you leave them inline then you cannot crank your stereo up to much as the amps ALSO amplify the sound and you will get loud music (good thing) bad thing is as you increase the sound in your aftermarket stereo the sound will become distorted. Most folks say wire your stereo straight to the factory speakers and if you got the funds upgrade the speakers. Some folks will use the existing amps with stock or aftermarket speakers and use the sub out to wire a separate amp for their bass. anyway run a search and they have lots of stuff, links to diagrams, pictures, etc.
  15. i have searched and searched and will be doing my own install thanks to you guys and will bypass the stock amps (unless i find a stock radio somewhere). p.s. are there any mods on the removal of the ashtray either for more radio / electronics room or for a cupholder set up somehow? I would not mind going double din but I will have to check and see what is behind the ashtray. Also I know there is an abs module or some amp below the radio on some pathy's can you guys tell by looking at my pciture if i even have that lower case? eventually i want a fixed cb in that dash somewhere... Anyway on Jeeps we went pioneer since they handled the vibration when playing cd's and most of the pioneers had a hideaway cd slit so no dust got in there. Now I do not know what brand to get for the Pathy. I am looking to spend $200 or less, i like PIoneer but am open to suggestions, i am looking for tweaking features. I liked pioneer since it has lots of customizable features with bass and treble control etc and you can really customize it to match the speakers and the cabin. later i will get speakers just doing things little at a time
  16. With that in mind fellas, since jeeps had round headlights they sold aftermarket replacement light (housings) that you couls stick an h3 bulb into. THe Pathy lights at first look like a standard square light, so don't they sell hollow square lights to stick anh3 bulb into? or are Pathy lights special? (special shape)? back years ago one of my buddies from the Army had an isuzu amigo and he put some square headlights that had a black metallic screen inside the glass so when off it looked almost all black... then it went to regular when you turned on the headlights. I know I am talking opposites from clear light housings (soundds like what you mentioned above in plastic?) to a black out headlight.. but I am just considering options....
  17. If they (or I) put tint on that rear quarter window that says pathfinder (i think it is a factory sticker) anyway that window to me looks factory lightly tinted as that reflective mirror like coating... if i put black tint on that will that look 'whacked?' will it not match the rest of the tinted windows? I need to know soon since it may get tinted tomorrow. here is a picture let me know. is there a way to peel off that silver mirror like stuff?
  18. Dude, my daily driver which i use for work has a slipping tranny, actually that is the reason why my wife bought me the Pathy, from the mechanic so we can have a second vehicle. I have not picked up the Pathy (as I state on every post) since I don't get it until it's paid off (plus part of uspaying for it she is changing the timing belt, even though she did it not long ago, changing the water pump, spark plugs, recharge the air conditioning, oil change, etc etc. Anyway i am leery of driving the Honda Pilot with the slipping tranny ovet the altamont to Manteca or over the Santa Cruz mountains or up north to Santa Rosa / Petaluma but once I get the Pathy (now it is early August) I want to drive toyour spot and try that winch bumper combo you got and go to some junkyards.... i want a 95 maplight... NO idead why but I am sure it will help. I also want to have a go at those rear speaker head liners and housings... I am sure eventually I would want to get some other things my truck does not have ... I like customizing and updating my vehicles, for comfort and safety My 98 Jeep TJ Wrangler ended up (before I sold it) with a 2006 soft top (quieter, more durable, has a flip up roof) had 06 mirrors, (lighter, better field of view) had the MOPAR stereo out of an avenger (cd cassette and eq).... had aftermarket window sliders to match the 06 material cloth...changed the headlights to round healights that take those h3 bulbs etc... so not to get off topic but soon I want to go to a junkyard with you guys and even if I don't buy i want to watch and learn the sublte differences in the model years from our vehicles.
  19. "That thing gotta a Hemi?" Looks like a Chrysler 300 M and a Pathy had a love child on Steroids!
  20. i never thought much about that since my wrangler was running aluminum forged rims which were light and strong.... but what rims look good on a wd21 Pathy? any pics? 16 inch is a common size now and you get better stability since the sidewall will be smaller... i don't want big 26 inch rims and i don't know if I want steelies (had steelies on the wrangler with another set of tires) but maybe some nice not so shiny aluminum rims? maybe a little wider for a better stance? more stability?
  21. Is that British and Argentinian flags I see?
  22. Helix, cost wise and clean wise I may go your route for now. then down the road that 12v cooler is sweet too! i saw some black and decker ones that might fit since I could not find that store you guys mentioned, maybe it is an OZ store. i think maybe i will just keep water bottles or my aluminum cofee cup in the truck so as not to spill a bunch of sticky liquids all over the nice blue seats! =)
  23. Nunya I am digging that! what year JGC the 90's years?
