  1. Do you have stained seats? Mine had gotten pretty nasty again so I cleaned them again today. Here is a step by step illustration for those of you who have not tried this before. First, notice how freaking nasty your seats have gotten. Next, buy some uphostery cleaner. Spray the cleaner on the seats generously. Really soak them. Don't be shy... The cap on this cleaner was removable and this made it easier to use the srubbing brush that is on the cap. If you do not have a brush like this, use a good stiff scrubbing brush that you can buy at any grocery store. Scrub it hard and be thorough. Now, you need to remove the dirt and soap by using a lot of clean hot water and a towel to blot the water in and then out again. Okay, now you need to use a wet vac, or local car wash vacuum to remove as much moisture as you can. What you are left with is very clean seats. They will need to finish drying for a few hours before you drive it. What a difference an hour and $10 worth of upholstery cleaner makes...
  2. I have done this on my 96 by removing the plastic intake tube and then cleaning the butterfly valves good with the spray. My wife told me just today that it is doing it again so I will clean it with photos in the next few days for everyone to see.
  3. They did not have the option to buy the precoated. As for the dual catalytic converters, I spent enough money this month on it already. Remember that I have about $800 more going into Calmini Steering and front end components tomorrow.
  4. Here is the breakdown. Headers - $225 Muffler - $125 Dual Pipes with Chrome Tips - $100 Labor - $225 Total cost was $775, including all parts, shipping, and taxes. The shop will install just headers for $225 labor and headers cost $225 too, so it would cost you $550 for this with no other modifications to the exhaust.
  5. I will do a small clip with engine revs after they finish up on Monday. They charged $225 to install headers. The whole thing cost me nearly $500 though because I had them install new exhaust all the way back, including the $125 Flowmaster muffler. If someone spent $200 on headers and then $225 for installation, that would be much cheaper than what most shops charge to just repair one side on the manifold issue. It is not as loud as it was, but it sounds more tuned if you know what I mean. It sounds good. They started the engine with only the headers installed at one point to move Pathfinder backwards a little. That was awesome sounding, but I do not think the local police would allow that.
  6. I spent 5 1/2 hours watching the local muffler shop install the new Pace Setter headers, Flowmaster Muffler, and dual pipes out the rear. Here is the complete story with lots of photos... http://www.nissanpathfinders.com/headers.htm
  7. My distributor caused my Pathfinder to stagger and sputter at certain RPMs. It would go into hiding whenever I would take it to the dealer to try to locate the problem. A new (used) distributor took care of the problem. Try Car Parts Dot Com. They have very good prices.
  8. That is a scary description of NPORA. Welcome to NPORA!

Mine also has a zip tie securing it to the side.
  10. That is not just the emergency brake light. It is your warning light for brake problems. You might want to check your brake fluid to make sure you are not low as this will cause the light to come on intermittenly.
  11. That looks awesome. What I want to know is when can we do mine? I am only in Seattle. Short drive for me.
  12. Welcome to NPORA. You should join us officially too at http://www.nissanpathfinders.com . Also, you might want to click on the FAQ link at the top of this page to see the issues that are most commonly discussed. WW
  13. You are gonna have to be a little more specific than that.

You can get some good deals there. I bought a 94 540 V8 BMW on eBay a few years ago with 90k miles for about $5500 under book value. I even got a full 2 year warranty for another $1200 from the dealership that sold the car to me. To get really good deals, you have to take some risks. Checking their feedback and possibly emailing a few of their past customers will help you find a seller that you can trust. Ask very direct questions like, "Are there ANY problems with this car?", etc...
  15. The control arm bushings are pretty important items on the Pathfinder. This is a pretty common failure on the 96 and newer Pathfinders. It has been mentioned in our old forums numerous times.

Good luck finding a Pathfinder for that price on a car lot. That limitation is one of the reasons I suggested eBay. I have bought cars and sold some too on eBay. You have to be careful and look at the seller's feedback to know why kind of a seller you are dealing with, but if you are looking at a Pathfinder in that price range, you will have to take some chances anyway you look at it.
  18. Your tire dealer should not mind mounting one up to test it. I bet it fits as this size was an option from Nissan.

Check out eBay and autotraders.com for low priced Pathfinders. They are rare, but they are out there. eBay Autotrader
  20. Okay, well I would not have created this poll if the topic had not been brought up to me privately. I just wondered what everyone else thought and it seems that most agree with me that it is not necessary to say F**&&* this and that. I am not a saint by any means, but I just feel that it is not something that we need to communicate here. I do have s t u p i d in my word filters, but only to keep one person from calling another s t u p i d and thus causing an online fight, which we have seen here. We have even gone as far as having to permanently ban people from the site. They were sending very nasty emails to other members when our word filters would not allow them to do it here. There is a reason to my madness. I have put these guidelines in place only to keep this site as friendly, helpful, and inviting as possible. I hope you all understand and see why I do what I do.
  21. I think you just paid too much. Got to shop before you buy... :o
  22. As you all know, I have always tried to make NPORA a safe place to all to come together for a friendly Pathfinder Community and I have made a strong effort to keep profanity and obscene photos, etc. off of the site. Recently, I have had members complaining about this and to me this seems odd, but I want to know what everyone thinks as a group. Do you want it to be open for you to say and do anything, or do you like the site like it is currently?
