  1. So what is the Tragedy? Welcome to NPORA... Have you officially joined NPORA? I know that you have registered for the forums, but you should also officially join us as well. There is no charge, but you get a member page where your Pathfinder is spotlighted and you will officially be a member of NPORA... Signup Page on NPORA
  2. I need all of you who are close enough to attend to put this on your calender and make it happen. It looks to be an awesome event and there will be sponsors contributing to make it great. There will also be a 4x4 Swap Meet and NPORA will have a booth. Don't miss this. Read all about it and see the photos of previous events put on by the same folks here...
  3. It will bring in income for NPORA and that means more for the members. I just purchased a computer vinyl cutter to make window stickers and logos for NPORA and next I want to get more equipment to make our own shirts. The vinyl cutter was seriously expensive, but I know that it will pay for itself over time to be able to make our own stuff. It will also help build up some more hype about NPORA to outsiders. That is just as important... I love the idea of the photo being of the owner itself. Stock is fine. As I have said, I would like there to be a good mix of Pathfinders. Some should be stock and hopefully some will be not so stock too. I would like to see some folks like Mookie and 88pathoffroad submitting some photos, but your stock photos are needed too. It is all about the mix. Send away...
  4. Get that girl in a bikini Nick...
  5. I know Steve1. I struggled with it for a while before mentioning it, but I do not want it to be raunchy or explicit. Just good clean fun and something a little different. It is certainly not going to be a common theme on NPORA. I just thought it would be a fun little project for us to do on the side. I will hold the control of what pics end up on NPORA and so you can rest assured that it will not be something to be ashamed of.
  6. I am pretty maxed out on the front lift. The next step for that will be expensive.
  7. Well, I decided today that they are too high. I am going to cut them down about 2" this weekend and that goes against everything in my being. They are just too much taller than the front. I got the Jeep Grand Cherokee springs today and they look new. I will take $65 plus shipping if anyone wants them. They are ready to install. They can be shipped out right away. :secret:
  8. Start sending me photos at girls@mrjim.net Guidelines They should be at least 18 years old. The photos will need to be clear and professional. Models will need to sign a release before it will be published. Photographers will need to sign a release before it will be published. Models can wear bikinis, shorts, top, etc. (whatever works) No nudity, but it can be implied. (as long as actual goodies do not show). All models accepted will recieve an "OFFICIAL NPORA GIRL" t-shirt. Send at least 5 shots to be able to choose from. More guidelines may be added as we go.
  9. Okay, I was worried about this. I do not want to make this a common theme at NPORA, but we are mostly guys and many organizations that deal with cars, tools, etc. have calenders with women on them and I just thought it would be cool for us to do it too. I agree that the girls are not the sole subject. Each photo will have a Pathfinder in it and I want to have a good mixture of Pathfinder colors and years. Plus, each will have a sexy woman in it too to accent the already awesome vehicle. It is just something fun that will help us stand out from the rest a little more. Plus, it is an opportunity for some of us to show off our girlfriends and wives, if they make the grade. There was a poll up for a day and a half and it was overwhelmingly yes for the NPORA Girls Calender so that is enough for me. Tasteful will be the name of the game. No nudity. You will see more on the Superbowl Half Time Show
  10. They reach, but have limited travel. They are tired anyway. I put them on in 2000. I will be adding some shocks designed for a lift this month.
  11. Well, that is a touchy subject. I would say to submit all that you consider to be calender worthy. I will screen and then I will post the finalist to choose from. I wasn't planning to put this to a vote, but that seems to be the way we are headed. I am choosing not to use my wife, but I have discussed it with her and talked with her about the models that I have been considering for my photos. She is okay with it and understands what I am doing. Personally, I thought that would be a lot of pressure on her to ask her to do the photos. She works at Microsoft and we are a little more known on NPORA than others too and I did not want to embarrass her in any way. Basically, if you feel that your wife is calender worthy and she is up for it, then I do not see a problem.
  12. There ya go... Sounds like NPORA Girl Material to me. Every girl that is accepted will get an "OFFICIAL NPORA GIRL" T-Shirt.
  13. That is the idea. I would like to see a good mix of Pathfinder colors and year models too. You all might check locally to see if there are any aspiring models looking for exposure. I put some feelers out there yesterday and already got two emails with photos today from incredible looking models willing to do this at no pay. Just remember that there is no nudity. You can imply nudity, as long as you can't actually see the goodies. I want to keep our image clean throughout this new idea. Have fun...
  14. First, my wife as a calender girl? She is cute enough, but probably not. Those springs looked and felt very stiff before I installed them, but they are very comfortable when installed. I guess the Pathfinder has enough weight to make them flexable. I think they are going to work out nicely. I bought them on eBay...
  15. Springs are installed and man that was a job and a half for one person with limited tools. First I unbolted sway bar and shocks. I jacked up the left side and blocked it for support. The old spring came right out. I got out my torch to cut the new Bronco springs where they taper down on one end. Torch was ineffective. I went to auto parts store and rented a coil spring compressor. They did not have anything to cut the coils. I went to Home Depot and bought some 2" metal cutting discs for my die cutter. I also bought a metal cutting blade for my table saw as a backup. I tried to use the die cutter first and that was a waste of time. I went to the table saw and zipped right through it. No problem. The spring compressor proved to be more trouble that it was worth. I fought with it for a while and then decided that it would just be easier to jack the Pathfinder up higher so that the new spring would just fit. That is what I did and it went fairly smoothly from there on. The right side went much quicker since I had already figured out a game plan. When I was done, it was sitting VERY high in the rear and I figured that I would just have to go back in next weekend and take an inch or two off of the new springs, but after I drove it around it settled down to be just a little higher in the rear than the front. I can live with that. It looks really good and I am happy with the results. One thing though, I will definitely be putting my front sway bar back in with longer bolts added. It is just way to top heavy now with the added lift and no front sway bar. I bet it would flex its tail off on the trails though. My wife said, "Why would you do that? You are ruining your Pathfinder. Why would you keep making it higher and higher?" I told her that it will be getting bigger still. It is just a matter of time. Again, she said, "Why would you want that?" She is cute. She does not need to understand some things... Hope you all approve...
  16. I do not want to go in that direction. I know that we can get enough gals to participate just for the recognition. There are many women who would like to just have the exposure if they are into modeling, etc. I just want to keep it simple so that nothing gets in the way.
  17. That would not qualify unless they would have signed releases for publication. Sounds interesting though.
  18. I have been considering making a NPORA Calender with NPORA Girls. This would be a tasteful bikini girl photo with a Pathfinder, submitted by the members for publication. Is there any interest in this? I will have a release form to be filled out by model and photographers and this would be for exposure only. No pay will be offered. It seemed like the best of both worlds - Pathfinders and Beautiful Women. No nudity or obscenity though. At this point it is just an idea. You all tell me what you think and if we decide to go for it, you will be the ones providing the photos. I will give you an email address to send them to so that I have control of what is posted. Please do not post them on the site yourself. All models must be 18 years old or older and must provide proof of age. -thnkboutit-
  19. Well, you all voted and Aaron Wiltsey, Aka "88pathoffroad", has the Official "Truck of the Month" for March 2003. Aaron has the honor of being NPORA's very first "Truck of the Month". Aaron's Pathfinder is now showcased on the main page of the site at http://www.nissanpathfinders.com and you could be next. Be sure to submit your Pathfinder in consideration for April's spot. Congratulations Aaron!!!
  20. Believe me, I know. Wife is complaining that we have spent nearly all of our tax return already. This year I decided to spend it hard and fast on my Pathfinder so it did not just drindle away to nothing on little things before I got anything done. I will just give her a few hundred dollars and send her shopping for clothes. She will be happy. sssh I would truely be scared to add that figure up over the years. Just adding up the actual items is scary: Rebuilt engine, Clutch, Lift(s), multiple sets of tires, multiple sets of wheels, bumpers, winches, sliders, intake kits, power chips, roof racks, offroad lights, stereo equipment, shocks, steering components, stabilizer, towing kit, tow hooks, Ventvisors, Lund Hood Scoops, Headers, Muffler(s), Exhaust, etc. sssh sssh sssh sssh seriously--- sssh
  21. I do not think that I want to add that figure up...
  22. I bought some Ford Bronco coils for my Pathfinder today. They are 2" lifted coils. I will be installing them this weekend. I also have some Jeep Grand Cherokee coils too and I will be selling the ones that I do not use. The Jeep coils looks softer, but the Ford coils are 2" longer than the factory Ford coils. Photos below...

The search function on this site will pull up this exact same topic from weeks ago. I have the Warn M8000 and it is more than enough for my Pathfinder. You should look at buying a Gell Dry Cell battery like I eventually purchased or you will have an issue. The factory alternator does not have enough amps on its own and replacing that will cost you big bucks, maybe more than your winch. The Gell Dry Cell Battery cost about $110 and it will handle the situation with ease. I have dragged a dead 1970's 4-door Cadilac that was bottomed out about 30 feet like it was nothing. Those things are heavy too.
  24. Okay, here is the step by step procedure to clean your intake when your gas pedal begins sticking in the "up" position and it requires effort to break it loose each time you step on the accelerator. Purchase a can of Carb Cleaner from your local auto parts store... Then, follow the instructions below... Then use an 8mm socket to loosen intake tube from intake. Now, you can see the butterfly value covering the opening just inside the intake. That will build up gummy residue after a while and will cause the throttle to stick in closed position (idle). Dealer tells you that only they can do this and that it is a very common issue. It has happened a couple of times on my 96 and never on my 94 model. ??? You spray the cleaner generously into the throttle opening while you open and close the butterfly valve with your free hand. I obvously could not do this in the photos as I only have 2 hands and I was taking photos. You will see the residue running out of the opening. Put the intake tube back on and tighten with 8mm wrench. That will take care of it. It takes about 15 minutes to do and will save you close to $100 that the dealer would like to charge you. Your engine will turn over a few extra times the first time before it starts after spraying all of that cleaner in it, but it will be fine as soon as it starts. It is easy... -thnkboutit-
