  1. And that is perfect. It gives me the extra 2 weeks I was hinting for to get some more things completed on my Pathfinder. I just finished my second week after changing jobs which resulted in about half the amount of work from me and about twice the paycheck. I was pretty happy at the last job, but it was getting hard to find extra time to work on any personal projects. I have had a lot of changes in the last 3 months. I had been doing fine financially, as seen by the huge start on my Pathfinder project, then I moved to a new place where my month rent and expenses were 4 times as high as where I had been. Much nicer, but I soon found that I had to start watching my money. Now, I have made a strong move to this new job and I am working less for nearly twice the pay. I just got my first paycheck today, so I can get back to work on the Pathfinder again.
  2. Yeah, you're right about not doing it on the run. I will see about getting it installed this week. I haven't been wheeling in the new rig yet. I think its pretty stable, but maybe Tahuya would be better for this first run. Unless others object.
  3. I letting Derek set the date. I am available any weekend. I liked the idea of pushing it back a week or two, because I have dozens of parts still left to install. Its running and capable now, but I am glad to have the extra time to get as much done as possible.
  4. Derrick, if I bring the Locka front locker with me, do you think we could install it during down time at the trail run? I just changed jobs last Monday and I am excited that I am going to be making an extra $10 an hour that is going to help in my project. I was slamming this thing together like gangbusters and then I had a situation that forced me to move in mid June. I moved to a place that is way nicer in every way, but the end result financially was rental costs are now 4 times what they used to be. The finances, the sudden 100+ degree weather that went on for months, the drought, the move itself, and extra demands at work all caused the project to stop for a while. Everything is looking good again now. My biggest expenditure remaining is that I want to get a custom bumper from https://tacticalarmorgroup.com/. I expect to spent about $1200 at least getting what I want there, plus shipping. I have come too far to cut corners on such an important piece now. The front bumper is essential. It holds the bumper, protects the front end on the trails, and on the highway. It has to be strong enough to push and be pulled, while looking sexy at the same time. I suppose in the end, I will probably do some custom paint or skins, but that is not important to me yet. Its all one color and with few blemishes, so I am not too concerned about it. I am planning to bring tent(s) to camp for the weekend if everyone else is camping too. Let me know what you think about, #1 when we will do this run, and #2 what you think about doing the locker during the trail run weekend.
  5. Yes, let's push it back a week or two then. Every extra weekend lets me get a few more things done too. I have the Locka front locker that I would love to get installed. The more pressing stuff is to get the front right suspension installed, the front right locking hub, and my rear springs. I won't have my winch installed or probably my front bumper either yet, but that's okay.
  6. Let's try to nail down some plans very soon. MrJim2 will be ready for the trails. I may not have my front bumper installed yet, but aside from that it will be ready. I also paid for a new Lokka front locker that will be installed too.
  7. Given the short notice for this year I would be open to going to one of the places you are more familiar with. I am not picky about where, as long as we can put it all together.
  8. Things are going great! Thank you. I am trying to resurrect the Annual MrJim Run this year on Oct 12th for the reveal of MrJim2 near Mt Ranier again where we went in 2010.
  9. Hey Derek, What do you think about planning an official annual run for Oct. 10th this year? It would be fun to go back to the Rainier area where we went in 2010 for the 2ND Annual MrJim Run. That place was epic. I would love to do a reveal of the new MrJim2 Pathfinder. To do it on the same anniversary of getting the original MrJim back would be my way of honoring the great things you all did for me back in 2009 and at the same time restart a great annual run again. It was never easy for me to do those runs from 2009 through last summer when my health and my finances finally started to get stronger again. Things are so much better for me now and I would love to jump back into things full speed this year.
  10. I would like to restart the Annual MrJim Run now that I am back to work with a new Pathfinder. What do you guys think?
  11. I want to send a huge thanks out to NPORA Member Steve Fleury of 4x4 Design.com in Ste. Catherine, QC Canada for the awesome job he did on my new graphics that arrived today. I couldn't wait to get them installed and they look great. Steve created these and shipped them to me as a gift for his appreciation of NPORA and I am very appreciative. Thanks again Steve.... https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10152832638522301&set=pcb.10152832649447301&type=1&theater
  12. Thanks Phillippe. I am moving to a new home this week and then I will be back on the Pathfinder Project again on a daily basis. My new place not only has a real driveway instead of the mud and gravel where I have been living, but it even has a garage. Nice....
  13. I had a family issue that came up on Memorial Day weekend and it cause me to stop working for 2 weeks on the Pathfinder. I am back to work on it again and in the last couple days I did most of the work needed on the front left side. I installed the new Superwinch Locking Hub, new Superlift Suspension lift components, and new Superlift Shocks. I had several issues and they are all listed in the following posts. https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10152816434177301&set=a.55427457300.78083.605882300&type=1&theater https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10152818098287301&set=pcb.10152818098777301&type=1&theater https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10152818887982301&set=pcb.10152818888672301&type=1&theater
  14. Thanks and that's a possibility, but I wonder how it would stand up to mud baths underneath there
  15. And I bought some nice coil springs Sunday at Pick in Pull that I need to cut down and install now. plus, I got the 3 gallon tank outfitted with a regulator, a switch, and a 125 psi super quick air pump..., plus the semi/train air horn that made the pump/tank combo necessary. The first thing I did was power up the air pump, etc. and WOW... Love it... That sucker pumped right up very quickly and quietly. Next, was the test to see how well it all came together and Holy Crap this thing is sweet!!! You will hear this 6 blocks away in every direction. Did I mention that I love it? http://www.nissanpathfinders.net/forum/index.php?app=forums&module=post&section=post&do=reply_post&f=5&t=40057&qpid=754499 Next question! Should I mount the 3' long air horn outside and in a visible place? Or should I mount it hidden away. I thought about even mounting it up on top, but finishing it in flat or satin black paint to make it less conspicuous. Input??
  16. I did work on the project yesterday, but didn't make nearly as much progress as I intended. I had a minor crisis that took over my day unfortunately, but it wasn't anything terrible. Not a great day though. I did manage to get a metal cutting blade that will allow me to cut that new set of springs to correct size. And, the new seat tracks didn't help the 95 seats fix into the 88 model Pathfinder. The 88 and 95 brackets are the same, so it must be a difference in the f...loor itself between a 2 door Pathfinder and a 4 door Pathfinder. Things aren't always as they appear. They appeared to be the same. So anyway, I had to MacGyver my way around that. I got some longer metric bolts and actual nylon spacers to attempt to level the inside track of each seat tomorrow. I wish I had not missed the opportunity to work on it all day Monday, but it is getting done a little more each day. I actually drove it with the body lift and tires for the first time and it rides nice on those new tires.
  17. I paid $150 for the kit with the shocks. It was a good value and all I need to do is grab some cheap coils to wrap it up. Here is a link from last night's work done on it. https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10152778251802301&set=pcb.10152778258922301&type=1&theater
  18. I got the Superlift Suspension kit and the first thing I noticed is that the rear of the lift is for leaf springs. That sucks. Its all good though. I am going to get a set of Jeep Grand Cherokee springs from Pick-N-Pull this weekend for the rear and everything will be good to go.... smile emoticon The rest of the lift is perfect. That will be tomorrow's big project.
  19. Mine will be ready in another week.
  20. I was just reading your member page. That is a great write up on your Pathfinder. You have some serious stuff on that rig. Impressed. I have to redo mine now that I have this new Pathfinder, but it feels disrespectful to just write over my original Pathfinder that started everything for me and for NPORA. I am still mourning that loss...
  21. Yeah, it started out as a 95. Then I switched to the 88. Here are today's photos of the project. https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10152771636047301&set=pcb.10152771636982301&type=1&theater
  22. I bought the winch for $242.49 including shipping. It is an off brand and OMG I am getting so much grief over that on the NPORA Facebook page, but really it is just one piece of the puzzle. It is going to be a pretty sweet Pathfinder when done.
  23. Today I ordered some Superlift Locking Hubs and a 150psi onboard air tank/compressor system. You can see the photos at https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10152768697927301&set=pcb.10152768702187301&type=1&theater. Let me know if anyone has trouble viewing them. Also, I am currently in a bidding war on an auction that ends in an hour for a 12,500 lb capacity winch with accessories. Its not a Warn this time, but I am going to give it a try. https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10152768695872301&set=a.55427457300.78083.605882300&type=1&theater
