  1. I feel like an ass

today i was giving my girlfriend a ride to her car from our student union building and i had to turn around, so i found what looked like a concrete parking lot with a little bit of rain water on it and went to turn around.

i pulled into th "parking lot" and found out it was about 6" deep mud...granted it was fun, but once i got on the road my tires started flinging mud all over, i hit students walking on the sidewalk, cars parked on the street, cars going in the other direction, etc.

my gf was laughing her ass off, but i felt like an ass.

i just had to tell someone.

That's the reason I get her muddy....and I can't be greedy with the mud, so I look at it as sharing the wealth. :)

  2. Couldn't give you names honestly..I'm getting too old for that chit, but I have been to around 15- 20 just for fun with a friend who competed...he got sponsored by audiobahn and some other crap...I haven't been to any nationals or anything....been to a few in San Diego, Aneheim, Ca. (few years back), Kentucky, Tennessee, Virginia Beach, etc. I don't know enough (or have the funds) to enter, but I just go with friends who are really into it when I can. It just amazes me seeing these Fosgate vans, and other "Sponsor" run vehicles blast away with no interiors...saw a van, think it was a fosgate, don't remember....the whole interior was fiberglass and concrete...no it may have been MTX....but anyway, my friend just says "there's an audio comp next week, wanna go? I'm there. I don't follow up on them at all, and haven't been 2 one in the last year either....but the ones that I have gone to, wow! My friend has only won a few...he always takes drive by for his class if it's one of the available entries....but SPL's only a few times.;)

  3. As for the shocks themselves, thats the easiest, 2 bolts each. I personnaly think you could do either-or, but just make sure that you dont need it for a day....do the front then the back, or vise versa...The rest is pretty easy too, took a few hours for the rear, then a few for the front.....for me.

  4. Alpine is a good brand, I wouldn't consider it "high end" audio though. Everyone has their favorite brands and own opinions on what's good and whats good enough, it really depends on how much cash you want to drop on a system, and how loud you want to crank it before it will distort.

Eclipse (Fujitsu Ten) is my choice.

Bottom line, go to a reputable audio shop, not circuit city/best buy/audio express, and listen to some speakers, or find someone you know that has a system you like. It's all personal preferance, just buy what you like.

Hit the nail on the head... :)

  5. I was tugging on the pathy that was on all 4 of those and it would not move. the thing I like about those is where you can set the frame in between the rim lip. I think Im going to pick 4 and just have it welded.

How is that animal doing that? There must be a camera in here...I'm going to find it if I have to......well, when I find you and your pesky pet I'll know who is behind all of this and then you will pay! lol :) oh and what happened to putting a couple of fat kids from around the neighborhood under the vehicle? Or was I the only one doing this? :hide:

  6. I've been trying to exploit my 95 xe and I've read some intersting hurdles on trying to upgrade the audio system. All I want to do is add 50w mosfet stereo and 100+rms watts min amp, w/ 300watt 5X7s'. What's the best component speaker system for the front that can handle such amps and be able to fade in the rear w/o/ having to go ape excrement and re-do all the wiring. If I have to, well alright, I've always enjoyed a chalenge, but I'll still need some type of wiring diagram if availble. Thanks

If you are talking about just fading to the rear speakers to avoid distortion instead of using cross-overs, just look at the watts and ohms that you want probably 4....if you are doing it that way, just use a mono amp to power your subs...or are you trying to put power to the highs? For something as small as what tou want, just talk to someone at Best Buy, or a car audio place....then go find what's recommended on Ebay....

  7. If audio bahn was crap, they wouldn't be winning competitions all over the world....they just aren't as well known as some others yet...yes, audiobahn sells their lower level @!*% speakers, but you get what you pay for...imo. Now I've seen Fosgate, JVC, and Kickers blow the windshield wipers off of cars, but most of those "types" are way out of my budget, and also pretty much un called for. I've also watched guys blow away the competition with audiobahns....it all depends on which ones you get and how you hook them up. I've seen alpines do ok and have seen them crap....I think I ran Alpines back in 1993-94....needed something newer. ;):D
