  1. Heay guys speaking of r-12 and r-134 you know that you can retrofit your old r-12 system to accept 134 then the main exspense is getting the old R-12 out of your system R134 is alot cheaper and easier I got a kit at my Oriellys that came with three cans of 134 the adapters and hoses and instructions and everytrhing to change my 91 pathy to a 134 system For are you ready ................ ....................$35.00 and you dont need a liscense or any thing my system was already empty when i got the truck 9 months ago i pretty much just filled her up with the instructions in the kit and now i have ice cold AC And i mean its cold as hell
  2. I think the difference in him and those of us blessed with mech know how or somthing resembling it is we can fix these things he cant but Zack if you dont have a friend or relative that knows cars and will helpyou or you cant do it yourself then fixxing these things can get very exspensive but like rmd said even new vehicles need repair from time to time and parts and labor on some new cars is more exspensive than your pathy i dont know what parts stores you have there but some mech shops jack up the price of parts for thier profit But all of that aside Mine which is a 91 Pathy has (ahem) 265,000 miles on it and its still going very strong every day and i trust it but then the mech who works on it is me so i know whats done alot of it is preventative maint to keep them going forever . Make your choice wiseley my son good luuck
  3. I forgot to mention mine wasnt pinholes from puncture mine was from thi factory welds or crimps towards the front where cracked but you couldnt see it at first till it got worse i tried jb weld and some epoxy stuff that was supposed to be for gas tanks it worked for a while then started leaking again then i tried the in tank sealer and its been fine ever since good luck
  4. There is a liner that you can use that you should be able to get at your local parts store that cost about 20$ for a can thats more than enough to do one tank you still have to drain the tank and prep it with thinner or something like it and it takesa few days to cure but it works good thats what i did and its still holding up and its a very good idea to have your stock or a stronger skid plate over it for protection
  5. Dont sell her just do a little head work to her and she'll be as good as new would cost less than getting a ride like yours my pathy has 240k on her
  6. Wow i just read that report it sucks to be them i guess that stuff could just be bad all the way around the funnie thing is the water pump that i put in when i did my timeing belt has this (NIFTY) little sticker on it that says "it is recommended to use dex-cool high mileage antifreeze" I guess it aint the first time manufactures directions were wrong and it sure wont be the last , (@#$%%) idiots pssd better i find out this way and not the other so thanks again
  7. Ok thanks so much again ill be flooding the thing in the morn
  8. I guess i know what ill be doing tomorrow mornign thanks guys i didnt have any idea that stuff was bad for them anyone know a really good brand of flush to use i havent had much luck with the ones ive used in the past and thanks again
  9. Because the last post in that thread was on the sixth i think so i figured id get more notice if i did a new one and ive got the a plastic and alluminum core raidiator
  10. oK in the topic strted by Teccibal about coolant someone said that Dex-cool is a no-no because air in the system causes sludge is that true in all pathy systems or just the R-50's I have a 91 VG30 And ive been runing dexcool for about a month is this going to cause me a headache
  11. Ok to clarify I was typing fast earlier slower now My new raidiator has the hookups for the auto trany fluid cooler lines I have a standard 5-speed 91 Pathy I dont need the tranny cooler so i figured i would be industrias and run engine oil lines from relocated filter kit through trany fluid lines in the radiator. Since replacing the raid i havent had cooling problems but, I use my pathy at least three times a week to pull a 18foot trailer with anywhere from 10 too 20 home appliances about 70 miles. And ive seen these said engine oil coolers on 3/4 ton and larger trucks that are used for alot of hauling and i figured what the hell it wouldnt hurt to have an engine oil cooler also.
  12. yes derogate youve got it but I didnt really think about clog problems maybe it wuold be better to just spring for a larger engine oil cooler . Are they that much bigger of an bore than the tubes in a raid for an atx cooler? Any other ideas
  13. Hey guys long time i know i was wondering i put in a knew raidiator about a month ago well its a universal one made for auto or standard trany anyway i do a lot of pulling trailers and cars and crap so i figured that i would get me one of those oil filter relocation kits (want one anyway ) tee it off and run one line out to raidiator tranny cooling lines(cause i have a standard tranny)and back to the relocated spot plus it would give me a little more oil and thats cool too S my question to every one is where can i get an relocation kit for my oil filter ? Ive read some of you guys talking about a chevy 350 filter being the same if this is the case wont a kit for 350 or chevy 4.3 fit also ideas any one
  14. Ive been wondering could i get bigger rubber under my pathy if i took my fender trim off So say if i took the trim off cranked up my T-bars raised my air shocks up what could i fit under my baby 33's 35's that rubbed just trowing some stuff out there any input would be appreciated  thanks by the way i got my winch havent had to use it though thout i was going to have to but nope she dug herself out
  15. sony explode is the receiver unit two amps and speakers it sound pretty good and like i said you cant beat the price it all came with the truck I bought it back in november when an old man pulled out in front of my explorer (now dont laugh she did pretty good too)but no where near what this pathy is capable of I wouldnt give up my pathfinder for almost anything ,with the LSD and the stock 31 10.50's its hard to get this thing stuck without wanting to im still wanting to find some really chalanging trails around where i live in AR so far the places ive been to havent been a chalange to my pathy or myself anyone know of any good fun trails or runs out my way
  16. By the way everyone im JASON but ive already been talking to some of you guys about my (intermitant miss problem)in the garage section wich is now corrected it was just a dirty as hell injector due to the wrong choice of fuel additive Marvel Myst Oil The stuff cleans so good that it pushed all the sludge and residue into the injectors and fuel rail Anyway I have a 91 SE New SONY Explode (came with truck) 31x10.50x15 V6 5Speed 4Door sunroof Pulled clutch fan added dual 13" side by side on an adjustable thermostat thinking about disconecting sway bars and adjust shocks and of course as everyone here always does,Iwant more rubber under my pathy maybe 33's or35's Anywho Hi every one Im Jason and I LOVE and i do mean love my pathy
  17. Headpeace im near fayetteville AR how does the sway bar disconnect do im trying to decide if i should do the same
  18. I second everything the guys before me said with no records and no new timing belt your asking to be screwed if you give them that much money for one Now dont get me wrong i love my high miage pathy 237000 and still strong no smoke ive got an exhaust leak up at my manifold pass side like they all get with the original bolts but other than that an my recent horribly dirty injector And i think that was partialy my own fault but i only gave 1500 for mine and I drive it every day plus offroading on the weekends but the first 40.00 that went in it was the timing belt and tesioner So personally i recomend a pathy :cool2: just not that one you can find a much better deal
  19. Well guess what everbody  -bounce- It was the #2 cylinder Injector And all it cost was a 99 cent bottle of rubbing alcohol to clean the little troublemaker out. Im good to go now thanks everybod for all the ideas By the way is there anyone who is in the OK,AR,MO area im itching to go trailing and Im picking up my new winch on Fri
  20. Hey jay you said it whines more when you go faster If its a five speep it could be your throw-out bearing for the clutch try pressing the clutch while your driveing or parked see if it quites down if so thats more than likely what it is then its a 20 dollar part you have to pull the tranny to put in good luck
  21. I think i might have figured it out guys ive narrowed it down to cylinder#2 and its getting strong spark all the way to the plug so its either a sticking valve or injector hopefully its the injector I guess ill find out as soon as i pull the injector out and check it thanks everyone ill lett everyone know soon what it was
  22. Mine has 235000 and still going great riding good no smoke good power only problem so far is the miss ive been trying to figure out for a couple of weeks now hopefully its the distributor i might have found one for 40.00 only about 30 miles away from me
  23. when i say it wants to i mean at different times and with no other apparent causes just comes and goes whan it feels like it all speeds all temps no matter what ive done so far even at idle i will try what you suggest HJC is there any way to test the distributor
  24. ill try that but mine has the miss when it wants to and at any temp
  25. geuss what its still giving me trouble could it be coil or distr it self would that come and go and is there a way to test these if it was the ign control module it would just not run right? any other suggestions
