  1. a few years back there was a build thread on a wd21 that had a full tube front, chopped frame, 4-link and shortened body.... can someone help me find it? i've searched and searched and cant find it :(

  2. Easy enough done, though being a MPFI you will need to remove the intake manifold to get to the left head.

If you don't really know what your in for, buy a manual or find the FSM that is floating around here...Somewhere.

When you get the covers off you'll see this

Just undo the 6/12mm head bolts (EVENLY) and remove the rockers and shafts, then the lifter housing comes right off.

I'd still bet money on rocker shafts, but hey.

    Good luck.

BTW other than basic tools you will need a torque wrench that goes as low as 18-22nm :aok:

thats some nasty sludge, time for sea foam? or a different oil

  3. i think the location you have is directly over the inside part of the fender that bolts to the inner fender/firewall. if you could get the sidemarker light as small as the VW side markers it would be ok. anything over that would be tacky. but you can do what ever you want, its your rig.

  4.

OH man. I didn't realize you would have to drop the oil pan to get that out of there. Boy... that sounds like a nightmare job now. Anyway to just loosen everything up enough to slip a new gasket behind without having to tear everything down? like parts hanging giving you about a centimeter to slide one up? I don't know the specifics at all about having to drop an oil pan since its never been an issue for me, so keep that in mind in case that's a stupid idea.

    Good luck man.

you can do it that way but you will have problems getting a good seal on the pan gasket. i've done it that way on my 280z before and its a pain truing to get RTV to stick to the oil soaked pan gasket

  5. so with my SAS i got rid of all the ABS sensors and what not is it possible to get rid of the damn light in the dash now. if i remove the ABS brain will it go away and i "no longer" have abs according to the ECU cause as is i dont have abs but it thinks that i do

i thought you were selling it?

  6. stream crossing are one of the things DNR or the FS uses to close trails. they did that here on the best trail in the state.. there was absolutely nothing that could have been done. they worked with the county in the background and shut the road for ever.

theyre just too F%$%ing cheap to put a culvert in and pile some rock over the top. if the greenines would leave the ORV budget alone they could fix the trails so that they werent having a negative impact on the fisheries.

  7. ya, taking the nova funds was not good.

all we can do is police our own these days.

Have you seen what the DNR has done in the Reiter foothills (previosly known as Reiter Pit)?

i heard they closed a bunch of the trails that intersect the streams. next thing they will have a toll booth on the entrance... greedy bastards.

by the time i get my rig trail worthy enough to go wheel Elbe and Reiter they will all be closed.

  8. I know a bunch of those guys,, most of them are good @!*%s,

They are regular wheelers like most of us, but are trying to help get rid of the 1% that is ruining it all for our sport.

its going to be alot worse in the next 2 years since the Dem's in Olympia stole 75% of the DNR's budget for ORV trails and campgrounds. the DNR estimated that it was going to have to fire 70% of it workforce to handle the budget cuts.

    ABOUT ORV TRAIL WATCH

ORV Trail Watch is a group of off road enthusiasts who want to keep designated trails, motorized recreation areas and certain campgrounds open to ORVs. Many ORV areas receive bad press and are sometimes closed completely due to irresponsible users driving off designated trails, making their own illegal trails, mudding meadows, cutting trees, trespassing and generally creating a mess. Rule breakers are cutting their own throats because they cannot see past fifteen minutes of fun. And their irresponsible behavior gives all ORV users a bad name. We want to help put a stop to it and we feel the best way we can assist is by taking pictures and reporting the rule breakers. Once people know ORV Trail Watch is out taking pictures they may think twice and maybe spread the word to their friends as well.

The purpose of this forum is to educate, use pictures against rule breakers and contribute in any way we can to help save our trails.

  10. I'm pretty sure the T-case and front diff vent into the tranny where the exess preassure can escape thru the 5 spd control lever. But that may be just specific to my 89 Cali emissons model.

the tranny and t-case have separate vent lines that tie into a common tube that connects the tanny/tcase/ front & rear axles. and it vents @ the firewall with an inverted trap. i havent had time to check the vent line yet. maybe i will get to it this weekend.

  11. Are you sure its T-case oil?

If it is there there must be some preassue in there, pull the fill plug and the vent line where it attches to a hardline @ the x-member and blow thru the vent line. If you can't then its clogged like bowtied said.

im 100% positive its the t-case oil, its good ole stinky gear oil. and its running down the speedo cable housing back to the fire wall...

it could be the leaf cutter bee's have plugged my vent lines they will build a nest in anything hollow and round over here.

If you added to the tranny the only way it would effect the t-case is if your t-case fwd seal is bad and thus the tranny would be over filling the t-case which might lead to a problem. This will also be evident if you pull the fill plug and more than a drop spills out.

i will have to pull the drain plug and see if it gushes out.. if it does then i bet the tranny is low, i've ran some really steep hill climbs and done a ton of uphill driving in the thing.

Speaking of t-cases I finally re-built the one you sent me and installed it. (thanks allot :))If it turns out yours needs a new fwd seal(requres a rebild since fwd seal can only be changed from the inside) I can rebuild my old one and send it back to you in the crate you sent me.

thanks for the offer. i know of a few over here that i can get a hold of. worst case i can drive my LUV for a few days

  12. Well I need something that will work... i dont wanna have to pull my stove out to have to access the 220v outlet and get yelled at by mom... scary... very scary thing....

i would go find a new pathfinder with less or no rust.... then move my stuff over to the new one.
