  1. actually i got it after 2 weeks...maybe 3 weeks...
  2. ok i kept u waiting long enough... i am getting a horrendous loud tapping... maybe one insane valve or lifter or something.... or worse... a rod......it would stop when i would rev above 1000 RPMS but then i drove another 60 miles and and now it continues to make the sound above 2500 RPMS... so i pulled the engine from the parts pathy.. but still has 210K/mi on it.. so i am actually undecided on what i'm going to do... most likely pull the valve covers to take a look... we'll see what happens... for now i'm not driving the daily driver... i had to borrow my moms civic.. and she is borrowing a car from one of my many cousins...but since my engnie has 346,800 miles on it i'm prolly looking at a complete rebuild but i'm trying to find a shop to do it.. because i do not have the time to tear it down nor get the thing back together... i'll keep u updated and if u know fo a shop that will do a rebuild in the ontario/san bernardino ,California area please let me know
  3. it all makes sense ...i think a quick disconnect for the friont swaybar would be sweet! does anyone have any design ideas.... i diddn't really understand the one with the plasic knob...
  4. ha so i got mostpower back ..replaced teh o2 sensor.. i took it off theparts pathy i have and same with the MAF.. reset the computer and adjusted teh timing and PRESTO!!! major power gains...BUT!!! the tapping is getting louder it's a valve my dad says... when it first started the tapping would go away at 1100 RMS... went out to a parts unlimited showcase 25 miles away and by the time i got back the tapping was still happening at 2200 RPM's .... so i'm not driving it till saturday.. and that will just be to pull it into the driveway...let the surgery begin. as far as ur idle problem i had that happening to me too.... but after like 3 months it went away by itself...i couldn't figure it out either
  5. -347,000 MI -1990 XE -oil leak from front of oil pan. -really loud tapping that just started -ZERO power.. and bas gas mileage..i'm talking like 130 mi to the tank...i'm working on it -rear hatch window sags super bad.. infact it shuts itself -pasenger side rear door won't unlock electronically
  6. i checked the timing yesterday and it looked to be fine.... b ut i also have a new problem... i have an unsteady idle and i have this loud tapping sound comming from the engine.... i told my dad about it and he went and took a look .. he says maybe a sticking lifter after listening around for about 5 minutes... what the frigg! how do i fix that if thats even what it is?? i also have a mean oil leak that needs fix'n but i'm gonna take it to the shop for that... i don't feel like pulling the oil pan to check things out.....rather take it in and get it done... soo frustrated1... i'm a mess right now..!
  7. ok it all makes sense now but for now i'm gonna put the front nismo one on.. i don't have the rear one on though... i havn't had it for a while now... if i plan on going for a big weekend i'll take off the front one for the weekend.. not like it's hard to do... thnks for the explanations
  8. no no no i know it does i'm just saying that if a sway bar limits flexing then y can a solid axle flex so well?? maybe i'm not making sense

  10. ha oops i'll fix that ... i guess it will limit offroad performance.. i'll just have to take it off when i'm getting ready for a big weekend... but really whats the difference between having a solid axle and having a stiff swaybar in terms if being able to flex??
  11. thanks!! i'll have to do that but that does not look like the stock sway bar.. who makes a aftermarket one? the one in the picture looks like it is shaped slightly different. never mind i just found it's nismo one... looks like i'm ordering it today... however it confusing... nismo swaybar what is it that i need from the original?? i'm lost
  12. who makes rock sliders commercially? i'd like to get some before i do dammage... cause once i get my front diff in i'm gonna go nuts...

  15. i have run codes but i'm nor sure i'm doing it right. it comes back and says 55 so everything is ok...in the computers eyes it backfires more affter i have been driving for like 15 min. i replaced the cap rotor wires and spark plugs less than a year ago but i'll have to check it out
  16. i have looked at the 4WD Parts Pathy that i have and it has the same sway bar and everything on it.. and yes i had it aligned
  17. i called calmini thismorning. they have not heard of this problem but they said to put the sway bar back on and e-mail them pics.. when i take those pics i'll post them here also.
  18. i have been stumped on this issue for over a month now. ever since i drove to utah i have been getting bad gas mileage and very low power.. it has even started to backfire. please help thnx -Steven

  20. i'm a ham radio operator and i was just wondering if many other on the forum are ham ops. if there are. it would be cool to talk on the air or even join in on a net that other oarticipate in. or maybe even have a NPORA net
  21. diving on the freeway w/o the bar is suicide.. this car is my daily driver so.. basically.. i need that batr there.. maybe i'll but the back one back in to stablize it a little more... i hope someone can come up with a solution.. i'm going to call calmini tomorrowto see what they say. but please everyone chime in with your ideas. i am also starting to wonder if the stock steering did the same thing.. the calmini stuff looks at the same angle and all....
  22. Somepics of how it is now.. i took off the sway bar.... it adjuster would hit when the wheel is turned most of the way to one side... the rancho stablizer bracket on the center link would also hit it.. here is a pic from a long time ago but with the stablizer bar in place and b4 the 3" lift
  23. i got the calmini steering installed but now... it hits the front sway bar when turning all the way to one side ... it pissed me off.... any sugestions besides removing it??...cause i already removed it but now i hate how much it sways... it was ok with the back on off but now the front too....there is no way.. that is outta control ... if anyone has suggestions please let me know thnks -Steven
