Nice, I like triangulated 4-links!
In fact We've got a kit designed that should be out by the end of summer. It's basically an improvement on what i've been running.

Outdoor Adventure USA (Welcome to Outdoor Adventure USA, LLC - Everyone deserves to be outdoors.)
is holding their annual "Summerfest"
in Big Bear, CA - June 25-27, 2010.
This event is open to all -
there will be 4x4 trail runs, hiking trips, and a Amateur Radio Field Day station...
In addition to all the off-road trail activities and hiking trips planned,
We are looking for all licensed ham radio operators, interested in participating in this Amateur Radio Field Day event, to sign up and volunteer to help us demonstrate the fun of worldwide HF communications and the benefit of Ham radio as a method of emergency communication in the outback. Field Day is an annual event that is used to demonstrate the ability of amateur radio to provide communication in emergency situations - in any environment, using the resources available.
We will be setting up amateur radio operating stations in the Big Bear backcountry, utilizing generator, battery, and wind generator power. We will be operating at least 5 dedicated radio systems in an attempt to make contacts on various bands worldwide, over a 24 hour period. Anyone can help out with our Field Day operation as long as a licensed amateur is present - with the bands charged with stations worldwide looking to make contacts with US participants, this promises to be a spectacular event in an amazing area.

Join us for a weekend of fun at OAUSA Summerfest 2010 !!!

Generally you don't want to use more than 3% difference although i've heard of people running the 4.56 & 4.6 combo.
Using the 4.9 & 4.88 or 5.13 & 5.14 combo will be better.
What size tires are you running?

Are you able to use a hi lift jack on the sliders? Looks like they don't stick out far enough but possibly you could angle them out farther
The outside edge of the the sliders are about 2" wider than the widest part of the door. They look closer to the doors in the pictures than they are in real life.the sliders come without the stand off tubes attached so you can place them how ever you like.
-
Sounds good.
I don't have any body lift on my truck and yes it's about a 1/4" gap from the tube to the pinch seam.

I had actually been meaning to add the gusset kits to the site and now that you guys brought it up, i got it done.
You can find both, the sliders and gusset kits here: http://ruggedrocksoffroad.com/rock-sliders-c-895.html
I strongly recommend the gusset kits or additional frame plating of some type.
The gussets themselves are definitely nice to have as well.
Now that everything is painted it's a little hard to see the gussets and plating but they are there.
Here is a under body shot of my sliders:

Thanks!
I'm sure you can get them to work on an R50 as well.
Shipping costs depend on where you are and are calculated live in coordination with UPS's servers during checkout on Rugged Rocks.
they ship from CA and weigh 65#. you will also get a UPS tracking number e-mailed to you once they ship.

Yhah, I'd love to sport a set of those all the way around.
Well, the axleshafts are different.
The backing plates should mount up the same regardless of the spline count.
ditto! It shouldn't be a problem.

Welcome to the board!

A long time ago i had mocked up these sliders in place, took a few pics and i think they started floating around here on NPORA but i finally welded a set to my truck and they came out really good. I just posted a quick little blog on them at http://ruggedrocksoffroad.com/blog but here is a copy/paste of it:
Finding a pair of production rock sliders for Nissan Pathfinders isn’t easy, but Trail-Gear has been making weld on rock sliders for Toyota’s which coincidentally work out really well.
I recently ordered up a 67″ set from Trail-Gear along with the plate and gusset kit for use on my 1990 Nissan Pathfinder. After cutting the standoff tubes to length locating the inner slider tube directly under the pinch seam on the rocker panel, the slider was angled up at 30 degrees. This put the sliders in a functional position as well as made them visually pleasing.
Trail-Gear sliders can be ordered online here: http://ruggedrocksoffroad.com/rock-sliders-c-895.html

yup, you guys read it right. basically just swapping the backing plate.
-
I would say yes. Nothing immediately comes to mind that would prevent it.
-
Thats a really clean truck and great luck to have that come your way! & Welcome to NPORA.
I'm up near San Bernardino and we have quite a few people down in San Diego on the Rugged Rocks board. Infact they went on a run today down near the mexican border. I hear they had a good run. i'm anxiously waiting for the pics to be posted on the Rugged Rocks later tonight or tomorrow.
Feel free to drop by the rugged rocks board if you want to wheel with us. the majority of us are in so cal.

Having lower lo-gears makes a WORLD of difference!
Ignoring the fact that my truck is SAS'd, check out this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BFicwWdw65M
It would have been impossible to crawl that trail with the stock 2:1 gearing especially driving a manual trans even with the SAS.

Thanks for linking to the Rugged Rocks forum! and i love my forum and everything but...
Here is a better & more step-by-step writeup: http://crawlernews.com/2010/04/nissan-frontier-xterra-rear-disk-brake-conversion-2/

Just a heads up, Eaton has H233B Detroits on the shelf ready to go, you can order them at http://ruggedrocks.com
Feel free to give me a call or e-mail me if you have any questions.
-
Do you guys have any dates in mind? I'm considering making the trip. I've never wheeled at Holister and i'm up for meeting some NPORA members.
-
We need some guys with Nissan rigs like that to come wheel and been seen at the hammers in Johnson Valley!
-
Good work man! It'd be nice to see some dyno numbers if you have a way to do that.
-
yes by adding clutch more plates

The ones that are in the works are the (W)D21 31-spline ones. i'll be doing the 33-spline shafts after that for the Frontier/Xterra.
-
If you get your driveshaft angles correct, you shouldn't have any vibrations.
I wouldn't worry about the front driveshaft spinning. Even in 2WD it may spin a bit at highway speeds.
-
let me know if you want another test dummy. It just rained in SD i wonder if snowed in Bear.
Was in Holcomb Valley mid-March and the snow was ridiculous, locker mandatory!!
I just might need another local test truck... i'll keep you in mind. i'm not 100% sure how many prototypes i'm getting
This is probably a dumb question but this type of locker is engaged full-time, correct?
If that's the case, I'd prefer having the option of locked or open...
This looks like a pretty decent combo...
Rugged Rocks ARB combo <--- I like!
It's not locked all the time. it's an automatic locker. you can go around corners etc but when one tires loses traction it locks up.
ARB lockers are really really nice and right now until the 30th you get a free compressor with a locker purchase.
