  1. They're actually not crap, and it certainly hasn't been "proven"... I've always spent a lot of time researching purchases like this, and the Silverstars do the job well.. Are they as good as the Euro version? Not even close. Are they better than most of what you can buy here? Definitely. Lighting needs also depend on what kind of driving you are usually doing. If you're going to be in a high-fog/high-moisture environment, a white light is not ideal, you're better off with a less intense color. But for what I do here, they're great. The bulbs also aren't tinted. In fact, the bulbs that come with the IPF 900MSRs are more blue-tinted than these. They're a step past the XtraVision bulbs that I used to use. So do your research before bashing stuff like this. If you'd like to refute me, please do. But I'd love to see some proof (comparison, numbers, etc.)
  2. On my 2002 SE, there is a rattle at the back right hand side of the sunroof... It sounds like a screw knocking against the roof. It's in the headliner, right above the passengers head. It's intermittent, and REALLY annoying. I've pulled the headliner down a bit looking for it, looked for screws to tighten up on the roof rack, and can't find anything. Any ideas?
  3. You're not talking about me, are ya pezzy? The ARB isn't that much heavier than the stock front bumper, maybe 50 lbs more. I've got OME lift coils in the front, and Valley Springs in the back, and the truck is almost a little higher in the front than back.
  4. You will have to change the hood and front grill... I've considered doing it myself, and if you can find a wrecked QX4 it should all be bolt on. You'll need the hood, and the center fascia. I believe everything else will be the same. Have you checked it out yet?
  5. I'm pretty sure the song is named after the town....
  6. I've gone LED on my marker lights, turn signals, and brake lights (third and crner lights). I've used replacements from superbrightleds.com, and they work ok, however they aren't as bright. My next step is going to be integrating full LEDs into the housings, much like OEM LED lights come.
  7. The Red LEDs are fairly bright. You can *almost* something under them if it's not too bright outside. I'm considering changing them out for higher power LEDs, but wanted to see how the effect worked first. I don't lose the overhead lights at all, I tapped into power from the sunroof. They LEDs are ignition based, on whenever the vehicle is. I'm planning on coloring the interior lights, but I can't find red bulbs that will fit.
  8. Here are the lights I've put in my truck for some internal night vision. I've integrated it into the console.
  9. Actually vsicks, the horn has an idle draw. As in, when nothing is being done with it, it still consumes some power. Much like the SECU and ECU. When the truck is turned off, they're still on. So, my question stands. Apparently from what I understand, with an Optima yellow top, it will take around 900 hours. Thanks for your help though!
  10. I have a Whelen horn in the truck as of today, and it draws a constant 45ma from the battery. I can't have ignition switched as it has to be on all the time for the alarm, and makes a rough sound when it first gets power. How long with the 45ma it consumes in idle take to kill my battery, and is this a moot point?
