Needs a bit of body work but that's about it. Last fall I picked up my first Pathfinder, a 1995 XE, then in early spring I picked up a '94 SE for parts and now a '97. Bitten by the bug I guess. This one is pretty sweet, leather with heated seats, bose system etc... My only thing is the rims, I think they're fugly.

No need to open the bleeder, take off the reservoir lid and push the piston back with a c-clamp or channel locks. Just make sure there's enough space in the reservoir to allow some fluid to come up without over flowing.
HTH!

need help again
rotors and pads finally here now i have no clue how to put the pads in
there is a metal tab on two of them in a set
does the pad with the metal tab go on the inside or on the outside??
my old pads fell apart so i have no idea what that tab is for
The tab rubs against the rotor when the pad is worn, it'll start to squeal as a warning to change the pads. The tab goes on the inside.

The transmission is the same RE401A, but I don't know if the wiring, harness, or ECUs are.
Thanks for the info, never even thought of those...
P.S. Did you ever figure out what your squeaking was?

Are the automatic trannys from a '94 and a'97 the same? Can I put the '94 into the '97? I'm unsure if Nissan changed the tranny when they went with the 3.3L. Thanks for any help!

Maybe check the lift gate latch or even the glass latch.

There are four connectors but the rears are connected in parallel on the same harness which connects in the main harness near the driver's side rear bumper .

There are no visible differences between the masters, they look identical! The manual dosen't refer to two types of masters, are they different internally?
Thanks!

After swapping rear diffs from Open 4.3/drums to LSD 4.6/discs should I do anything else regarding the disc brakes? Do I need to swap the load sensing valve?
Thanks!

Just wanted to say hi to everyone,
I'm new to the Pathfinder world and am looking foward to challenging myself and my rig on a few trails this summer.
I bought a '95 XE 5speed for a few bucks w/ 235ks and then came accross a '94 SE auto w/ 60ks six weeks later that has frame rot from the rear doors back. I'm now in the process of doing an engine swap aswell as the diffs along with the transfer case. The SE has a LSD rear and it has 4.625 gears!
I've read a few posts re: lifting the rear end with JGC springs so that has now been added to my list of things to do, including torquing the torsion bars. Thanks for the info!
I'll post some pics of my truck soon.
Cheers!
Picked up a new toy today

Nah, to many vehicles at home for the moment. My in-laws were gracious enough to let me store it at their place for now. Once I get rid of the '94 it'll come home.
