any help b4 tomorrow would be greatly appreciated, I need to know waht Im lookin at as far as feasability goes with this
-
hey I jusdt checked my bumpstops, if I recall correctly there should be about 3" between each bump stop and its respective bumper (for lack of better term), is that right, also is that while jacked up? cuz on the ground I got an inch both ways
-
Im thinkin I'll do the front (t bars) first just to make sure I can get the lift I want (1.5-2") before doing the JGC's, then tweek from there
-
I got ya, just kinda extra cushioning
-
thanx harware, I don't normally do rock crawling so thats a plus did u see my other post about the rubber piece, spacer thing?
-
oh yeah, whats the purpose of the extra rubber piece on the rear springs?
-
another question for the experts, will aftermarket UCA's correct the angles for the CV as wellas tie rod ends? or just the BJ's?
-
hey grim, u think 2" would tweek the tie rod ends too much, I just put some new ones in about six months ago and would like them to last a while, I put in some moogs, a friend told me they were the best, preciate the advice
-
will do precise, and thanks for all the help guys, oh yeah this is propably stupid question but I only cut off just enough to make the JGC a 4" diameter right?
-
I hear ya hardware, I completely understand
-
also hardware, if I only intend to go 2" would u personally, if it was your path, be concerned with the bj's, using stock UCA's? Thanx for all the advise man
-
hey hardware, I appreciate the reply; heres another, if I get the UCA's will I still have to crank the torsion bars, or do the aftermarket UCA's somehow lift the front by themselves? also just out of curiosity, why havent u decided to lift?
-
Iquess, I would rather mine be out, more cargo room, or sleepin room
-
Ithink its year model but these other guys propably know better than I
-
i dont know about tranny other to drive it and check the fluid to see what it looks like, if it looks burned, manifold bolts, I personally wouldnt worry, its propably 99.0% chance they're shot
-
boots yes, look under the front tires, its the part that goes directly to the center of the rim, there will be a rubber cone shaped thing thats like striated, thats the boot, theres also one, if you follow that rod one the other end where it connects to the drivetrain? anyway there are upper and lower cv boots, check em out
-
also if u do go look at it, check the cv joint boots to make sure there are no tears, make sure they're intact cuz thats a pretty expensive job
-
yeh thats very true, but mine have been broken since I got it, not a big problem just a little noisy before warm up, but extremely common on those pathys
-
hey Ive gotta 93, bought it with about 80k miles, it now has 156k on it. I havent had any tranny problems, I towed a trailer full of my moms whole apartment from Ft worth to Little Rock (about 400 miles) around a year ago and had no problem and Im still using the original tranny cooler. If its in good condition otherwise Id jump on that, thats pretty low miles for that year, ask when the last time the timing belt was changed, should be aroun every 60k miles,
also the only thing that has failed on it since Ive had it is the starter and the fuel filter, both inexpensive repairs
-
should I be concerned with the ball joints?
-
thanx hardware, ill try that, Im hopin I can do this w/o UCA's; ya know , for the $ aspect
-
ive got 31.50x10.5 15 revos bridgestone A/T are there is no rubbing , Ive been running this same size since 99 and havent had any problems, even offroad, this was stock size when my 93 was bought by the previous owner
-
I got my JGC coils today, Ill cut em tomorrow, now I see about the 3 inch diameter thing, anyway wish me luck , Im sure Ill post more soon, and pix
-
thanx seattle, Im gonna watch it, a good note being he thought there was an oil leak when he popped the hood , not after the job; but hell, its got 156+ on it, there's gonna be some oil in there

measured with the pathy on the ground there is only 1" on the UCA, my concern is if that is supposed to be actually about 3" then if I start crankin the t bar then I'll get only 1 inch and be on the bump stop, does that make since?
