  1. Havent gotten the pathy stuck in deep mud yet.. i did try the winch out just to make sure it worked.. Hooked it up to a tree and it pulled the pathy right to it. Those tires are actually remoulds that they make in Quebec. They are pretty much a exact copy of the Yokohama Geolander tires they made a few years ago. They work awesome in mud, and the best part is that they are only $115CND for 31's.
  2. :secret: We used the original stock brush grill.. :o It's going to be mounted on top of the bumper, bolt on. The middle 2 bars and the light bars. I'll post pics of it on, and off.. we'll see what you guys like best. We held it up to where it would be and it just looked way to mean not to put it on.
  3. pics should still be there.. It's a costco/sams club 8000lbs Champion winch. Bumper should be done this weekend, then powder coated next week. I'll post more pics when i take some.
  4. No, all the welding was done with the bumper off the truck, i just put it on there to take some pics. Actually i brought him a picture of your bumper and a few others, and he came up with this design.. i'm happy with it. The best part about this bumper is the ease if installation or removal. It's a 3 step process, bolt the winch mount on, bolt the additional brace/skidplate for the winch mount, and bolt the shell of the bumper. if you need to get some work done in the front, you can just unbolt the shell of the bumper and have full access to everythig there For the turn signals, i found some smaller ones from a Trailer parts store, we are going to try and use those, if they dont work.. I guess i'll stick with the stock ones. To finish it up, it will be sandblasted, and powder coated. The skid plate that goes over the braces will be painted to match. How much did it cost you for the SAS AK9849cy ???
  5. actually i'm not sure on the steel, it's my buddy building it. I got the winch at costco, cant go wrong for under $400CND. I haven't used the winch yet, but i know alot of people around here that have, and i guess it works just great.. not fast like a Warn, but it still get's you out when your stuck! That's the main thing. Costco is coming out with a 10,000lbs winch soon.
  6. thanks guys,,, i'll be posting finish pics once it's all done.
  7. thank you.. Now i need to lift the front to match the rear. I can get my hands on a TRailmaster 4" lift for $400cnd, it's used and missing a few bolts. Or i tought of going with torsion bars, and UCA to lift up the front. Basically same price in parts, but the 4" lift would be 4 times more expensive in labour. What do you guys think? I currently have JGC coils in the rear.
  8. Well here's my bumper that is currently being built for my 93 pathy. What do you guys think?? Skid plate will be mounted underneath on the braces that you see. Bumper will be powder coated black this week, once it's all done.
  9. I was looking for a skid plate drawing for our pathy's and found one on another website. The mesurements are good, but the drawing itself was not readable and pretty small. I have re-done the drawing. Here it is. http://otafterhours.com/Uploader/files/4/skidplate-done.jpg sorry, had to edit. pic way too big to be in text. thanks.
  10. That's the problem i had with mine.. that little fuel tube, in the cold the clamps would get loose, and piss out alittle gas, after 5-10min of driving it would go away.
  11. same issue here,, when it's really cold out. The first couple minutes the truck is running is smells like fuel pretty badly. Once it warms up,, it goes away.
  12. This should help you out. http://www.installdr.com/InstallDocs/Nissan/PDF/647029.pdf
  13. no i dont have any mods for steering yet.. And has Filthylurker said,, i dont know a whole lot when it comes to offroading or nissans, i have been more interested in fast cars in the past, and just got my pathfinder last year for the winter. Now i'm starting to like offroading more and more. So i'm selling my porsche because i much rather have a truck where i can go anywhere i please,, maybe slower, but i can get anywhere! My buddy is going to help me install some new brakes on the weekend, and we are going to try to re-index the torsion bars.. He's a mechanic, thank god. Because i have no clue how the torsion bars work.
  14. ok cool,, so in your opinion i should be able to get more front end lift with my torsion bars, if i try to re-index them. Do i need a hoist to do this job?? Can it be done in the driveway.. basically? If they dont re-index,, i guess i'll need to buy some new ones.
  15. Since we can use the JGC coils in the back of our pathy's i was wondering why we couldn't find a suitable pair of coils to lift our front end also. Is this possible? Just wondering, i installed my JGC coils this week and they said my torsion bars were already cranked out to the max. But as you can see, the front still sits alot lower then the back.
  16. yeah, i figured that would be the best place to mount it. I think i will get a steel plate welded between the 2 bars that have holes in them. Right around the license plate, that way that stress should go to the frame and not the top part of the grill, that would probably snap under alot of pull.
  17. Cool.. i know the product. That should do the trick.. doesn't take much to scratch these bars.
  18. thank you for your input. Yes forsure.. i want to take that bar off, the side bars and the tire carrier and get them all sand blasted and re-painted. Figured i would wait till i get my winch, since most of the bolts are probably seized ect.. Any special paint out there made for this type of stuff.. a pait that wouldn't chip very easily?
  19. I have a 94 Pathfinder that came with a stock brush grill. It is attached to the frame. Do you think it would be strong enough to support a winch? It will certainly need some custom fab to mount it.. but would it work ? ? thanks
  20. I also noticed that when i open my door that the dash clock will go out, when the door is closed it's on again, but resets to 1:00. My dash light for the "door open" blinks on and off constantly when the truck is on, but it's not fully bright just dim. But if i switch the dome light on and off, the "door open" light will come on solid. But there is no door open!! Some very weird electrical problems here,, hopefully someone will be able to point me into the right direction. Thanks
  21. Yesterday i was out in the mountains for a sunday cruise... well on my way back i hit some pretty big dips/bumps. After hitting one of them, all of a sudden my cd player turned off. So i stop the truck and check the fuses, they are all ok. I pulled the cd deck out and checked it's fuse, it's still good also. Now everytime i start the truck, the dash clock is always reset to 1:00, and the deck is still not working. I checked the fuses again today, because my dome lights are no longer working either, i noticed that the fuse for the interior lights is now blown. I checked all the wires on the deck, they all look good, and the cd player seems to be getting some power, because the anti-theft light blinks when i remove the face plate. Anyone have any ideas what could be causing these electrical problems???
