  1. as far the h1 h3 i've seen both do simialar things and different thing, such as somebody said and h1 wont go through tight spaces very much, but other than that i've seen it where its massive size gives it an advantage, going over a huge boulder/rock thing that a wrangler couldn't, from watching it it looked like the weight just gave the h1 more grip on that rock. im not a big fan of either personally seeing as i can't afford either. thats where the pathfinder comes in.... and the wd are much easier to mod, not that i have yet. but i've drvien an r50 and they way way way more power...

  2. you can get the H3 with a 320hp V8 and front/rear lockers (Alpha model with Adventure Package). it will easily outperform an R50.

that wasn't the point... the point was you're saying an r50 could outwheel a wd just the way a h3 could a h1...

both of which or completely false.

  3. the back of the truck is easy, but last time i did that, the girl i was with got cold so i turned on the car and the heat for al ittle while, turned it off. when the started coming up, i woke up soaked in sweat from the car getting heated up and felt like was gonna die, reached over and poped the rear hatch. that was not the most comfortable night....

  4. ok so governments have been going after gun and knives... now 4x4's? this is just plain dumb. heck in the little town i live in you get trucks and cars without cats casue we don't have any checks on anything... and as far as i know up to 40 inch tires are street legal.... that sucks man, hope its not to dumb when it comes around.

  5. yeah clutch bypass, if its in nutral you can push it then start it without the clutch like if you dont want to get in the car, or i was told if you your moving and in gear it can work by just having had pushed it and then if you stall jsut start her up but i've never tried that.

  6. i had the same problem too and need new bars and the dealer gave me new ones for 60 bucks. whatever junk yard you go to, for 180, they're nutso. i just had metal welded in the whole to fit over the sleave for free from the high school auto class, i got hook up at the school. maybe wont last as long but its good for now. and of course new bushings, which i need on all kinds of other things.

koveman where did you those new bushing and cup things?

  7. ok

    1. stock 89 does more than i ever thought it would when i bought it. 31 tires and independent suspension and manual transmission.... i love it. it performs great on what i have available to wheel on down here.

    2. never driven it offroad but learned to drive in a stock r50 and absolutely loved it to death, if my aunt will sell it to me im buying it. and wheeling in luxury... i've seem members rigs on here that look absolutely amazing with all kinds of mods. and wasn't there a guy here where some chick hit him and he's been doing a sas on it?

    3. i happen to like the looks of the r51, don't know anything about the traction controll though. my parents are thinking about getting one even just because i have my 89 and have said things about the new one. it looks more like it should be competing against explorers and trail blazers not jeeps and such, the fact that nissan even put it up there is interesting.

    4. we also have an 03 xterra. great vehicle, love the way it looks i don't know why you guys would have a problem with that. at that point i don't know if they offered lsd or lockers cause ours doesn't have it, the one time i convinced my dad to take itt out with local club, we needed to back up and take another line caue of only 2 wheels spinning but it went without a problem, surprised all the jeep owners there.

    5. nissan does have offroad packages in the states... pro 4x and offroad. x, frontier and titans that come with skids lockers different shocks and tires...

    6. im with everybody else here who wishes there was a us patrol.... i've gone to the dealer in town, and they don't even know what it is, i know more than the salesmen about all the trucks and some of the cars that nissan has available, its pretty freaking sad.

    7. whats all this about land cruisers? cause guess what got one of them too! 78 fj40, not even 30 inch tires and no lsd's but it will go anywhere we point it....

  8. mine is my 89 pathfinder... its three months older than me... need something that was stick and i could fit it, the stearing wheels in these pop up to my pleasure when i found it. saw the 4x4 badge and beautiful blue color, then the stearing wheel poped up, so at 17 my step dad baught me my first car!

  9. Minnesota, only took it on one trail up there which it had no problem with. Mine is pretty basic as well. Definitely up for something in the desert though. Not too sure how to distinguish between Indian territory and trails though... haha otherwise I'd be out there more often haha.

lol well i say if there's no sign saying don't do this then go ahead and do it. of course i've come across some signs that say close gate behind you and when i get to the other side of the property the other gate was locked so i had to turn around and find another way off, which was fun anyways.

  10. im thinking early august, depends on when I get my truck sorted out. Not much time either unfortunately as am in summer school.

Some nice wine country in southern AZ, good destination points! :friday:

yeah i know of two wine vineyards down here but don't know anything about offroading to get there. usually when i want quick fun i go up canyon rds and paly around.

  11. oh there's plenty of trails all over the palce, and i've found a few deserts with enough room inbetween the big shrubs to go completely off trail :D

around agaust ill be back in school so i don't know how much time, and im in a stock truck so i can't do to hard core stuff. but it would would be way fun to go out with a bunch of nissans. there's one guy in the club here who has an yota lc with a sticker that says made to rescue J**ps, i was surprised they had let him in.

  12. im down in sierra vista, which is basically just a little hike from mexico so going up to flag would be a little hard for me, though fun i went to nau for a year and loved it. there's one pathy owner down here i met at a mechanic shop who has a nice rig and siad he's looked at npora but isn't a member, there's also a lot of pathfinders in general here. but none besides that other guy that do offroading stuff that i've seen. the local 4x4 club down here is practically all wranglers too. they poked a little fun of the xterra i went out with on one run untill i went through it with street tires. (i went with my dad who owns the xterra and wanted to use it, and he has since baught some all terain tires).

  13. well the back seat of my 89 has 3 lap belts that are really weird. once you are done pulling them to whatever point, and let it go back a little they lock and wont go out any more. is that the problem you're having? pretty much when people sit in the back they don't use them

  14. i met a guy in my town with a few aux lights on his 87 and he said he needed a new alt. something about all the lights being to much for the stock one and he wore it out really fast. he said he got one off a newer nissan minivan lol, so it could be a good idea to get a new one apparently.

  15. could I have that p/n and supplier info please?

i don't have the parts number, but for the bushings i got at a local store and another one had bushing with the sleeve so you should be able to get them at a parts store, or my local dealer had them and the rod for not to much, i just had to pay extra for the stupid shiping. the dealer was the only place i found the rod however.

  16. so its time for an oil change, but i was wondering about other fluid in the truck as well such as transmision transfer case and differentials. i don't know much about this stuff. i saw on an episode of truck U they emptied the rear diff of a truch and removed the back cover and swept out any little grinded pieces and replaced the fluid and what not. so my question is how often should you replace those fluids and what kind of fluids goes in each part then how you do it. i have an 89 se v6 4x4 that i bought used with 140000 miles now and don't know if any of those fluid changes have ever been done.

  17. Did you crank down the torsion bars before you started?

i have no idea i didn't do the fix. basically there are long metal "skirt" pieces that go over the rod and basically fit between the rod and the frame, both left and right had been eaten through the right one was fused the rod itself somehow so i had to get a new rod. they welded metal the upper part of the whole and sanded it to size and then put the new parts on, no squeek now. but there is a whole in the main cv boot so i got boots but i guess they require some more labour becaue they are backwards from other cars... ?
