You should be OK. I've got 255/70 16's, and there's still a good bit of room toward the strut. Oh, and my speedo still reads slightly low against those police radar speedos.. I guess it must be really off with the stock tires. Why do you want 265's anyway? 255's are perfect for a 16x7 rim..

I wanted a taller tire I thought it would be better for the beach driving but I think I'm going to call tomorrow and change it to a 255x70x16 before they ship. So I have no problems. The tire rack has 255x65x16 in General grabber A/T's (stock size) but they are on backorder.

yea i have the stock size of the grabber at2's being shipped. i ordered them like two weeks ago, but they were out of stock at the west coast warehouse (Reno, NV), closest warehouse in stock was at Louisiana. They should be in stock on monday according to the tire rack rep.

Well, Diamondman just posted on a another topic that they could not fit 265x75x16 on his pathy with a A/C lift kit? #(*%, if he's right I wont be able to fit 265x70x16 on a stock setup. Think I will stick with my 255's x 65 or 70 x16. Quismo did the tire rack say they can get 255x65x16 grabbers A/T's by Monday because I tried they said sept 30 for me in NY? I know they have 255x70x16 in stock with raised white letters the 255x65x16 are black sidewalls (grabbers A/T). Not that it matters to me. I will have to call Monday AM to change my order before they ship therwise I'm :furious:

From the tire calculator I posted, here is what you get:

245/75R16 Dia = 30.5"

265/70R16 Dia = 30.6"

255/70R16 Dia = 30.1"

255/65R16 Dia = 29.1"

Stock on my 02 is 245/70R16 Dia = 29.5"

So if it is extra height you want, then you need one of the upper two or one like them. I got a full extra inch by going with a 75 series rather than the stock 70 but keeping the rest the same.

Thanks Trainman, I found the specs on the tirerack website. I was just concerned. I want to stuff the biggest tire possible without rubbing or hitting the strut, fender etc a 30" tire SHOULD fit with no issues. The problem is they only make 2 A/T tires in the stock size 255x65x16 one is Mich's which I dont like and the other is General grabber A/T's which I like and have used before but they wont be in stock for awhile in 255x65. Nobody in my area has General A/T's nor can they be had. Tirerack is the only place left that has em. 245x70x16 is the closest size to 255x65x16 or I can try 255x70x16 which is 1" taller and I could torque the torsion bar if they rub. Wow, alot of drama for tires !!! PS The local tire places knew less than me about what might fit SCARY !!

You say: "...I could torque the torsion bar..."

The R50 (1996-2004) Pathfinders have front and rear coil springs, no torsion bar to crank I’m afraid. The photo I posted was of my front, strut with coil spring. I find it is the bottom of the spring seat that creates the tight fit.

Good luck and let us know what you end up getting and how they fit. I will be buying new tires before snow fall and am still undecided on actual size. I will be getting the Bridgestone REVO in an LT though for sure, work well around here.

I'm not sure really. I decided to get stock tires, so i was only looking at 245/70/16's from the get go. i'm sure that supply and demand differs greatly between sizes let alone brands. sorry man, wish i could help more. maybe you can call the sales rep that is helping me out. his name is eric, his # is 888 428 8355 ext 391
