Hi guys, I'm finally getting around to changing the shocks and struts on my 98 after 130,000 miles.

 

According to the Haynes manual, it says the manufacturer recommends installing the new strut with new nuts at the 3 upper mounting bolts and the 2 lower knuckle bolts. Is this something that is necessary or can it just go back together with some locktite?

 

Dealership already closed for the day and doesn't open again until Monday, and I'm hoping to not blow a weekend to work on this by having to wait for a few nuts.

It mainly depends on the condition of the old ones... If they are crappy, rusted, worn or bent, replace them. If not, reuse is possible. What are the torque specs on those bolts ? The higher the torque (VS size/pitch of the bolt) the less likely I am to reuse it... ;)
