2001 Pathfinder

I am getting a popping noise when I apply the brakes like when slowing before a traffic light. It is just one pop and it seems to be coming from the front wheels/brakes area. Any help would be great. Thank you! :D

It does not jerk or pull to one side. I can't tell if it is both sides or not. For the most part it does not feel any different, I just get this one pop noise when I brake. I'm thinking it might be something in the caliper assembly because I also get a pop when I'm backing out of the driveway or parking spot and applying the brakes. Thanks

Sounds like the same thing my 96 is doing. Sometimes when i stop, sometimes when i take off. Just one pop. I think it may be related to some worn out front end bushings.

It doesnt pull or jerk, just pop. It seems to happen most with loading (brakes) and unloading (accelleration) of the front suspension. It will happen usually with one or the other, but not both in the same stop and go, and not every time. But it does happen often.

I did some looking the other day and found the bushings at the rear of the front lower a arm are about shot. Time for replacements, maybe that will fix it.

Most likely bushings of some sort. Not your brakes...they do other stuff like squeal and whine. snosnk - it may sound like the front on yours but if you get it when u take off that would be ur rear trailing arm bushings.

something to look into michael anderson.
