Wacky Locks

Whenever I close my driver's door my truck decides to lock itself...it gets very annoying. If I close it very, very gently it will stay open, but with any amount of force it locks.

I've pulled out the lock controls, cleaned connections, looked for loose wires etc...Anyone else ever had this problem?

many. search will find you the answers. In particular with the 95's, you need to pull the door panel and plastic liner, get your arm and a small can of WD40 in the door and blast your linkages. Check for broken clips etc cause that seems to ba another problem that occurs (search on yellow thingie or thingy). I just did my drivers door last week and will do the passenger door when I put new speakers in.

the actual problem is (if no broken clips) is that friction in the linkage does not allow your lock to fully open. When you shut your door, it is enough to tell your actuator that you pushed down on your lock knob (which you really haven't).

Good luck.
