Changing Coolant

Im going to be changing my coolant tonight, as I cannot remember when it was last changed. Should I use the prestone flush stuff or just flush it with water?

 

Anything I should watchout for? Do I have to remove the splash guard to get to the radiator drain?

if there is a bunch of scale builtup in the rad or your heat has been weak then do the citric flush otherwise just h2o will do. of course try to catch all the old coolant and recycle it.

Ill buy it, if I see lots of crud coming out in the fluid, then Ill flush with the stuff.

Unless your 98 is different than my 97, you not only need to remove the splash guard but the cross brace that supports it as well.

Those should come off in favor of a skidplate anyhow, though.
