adding tweeters to factory bose

hey guys i have the factory bose

 

i want to add tweeters to the rear speakers, do i splice in before or after teh amp? do i need a crossover?

 

how are the factory front tweeters hooked up?

You will want to add them after themp, but you wil definately want some resistors for them so they don't get blown...even if they have a little resistor on the side of the tweeter it is just protection and its also insurance that they will produce clean sound for you!

 

On a side note, the factory tweters in the front pilliars of the truck sound good too when you use an aftermarket amp! I amp'd them and crossed them over with some resistors and they hit the spot....I did however add another tweeter to each of the doors close to where the door meets the dash! The front is pretty sweet now all around!

'Snot a resistor, it's a capacitor AFAIK. Martin, do you have any cents to throw in on this subject?

 

FWIW, I added stock tweets to my front doors by simply splicing them into the door speaker wire and they've worked fine ever since.
