Filthy Luker
Have you tried automotive performance or 4x4 stores?
wheelmanLS1
I got my Perma-Cool oil filter relocation kit from summitracing.com. And I would try Napa, Autozone, or Advanced Auto Parts for the valve cover gaskets.
nakta
price on the oil kit, and how do you like it? are they all the same?
wheelmanLS1
They are all pretty much the same. This particular kit cost I think $54 with shipping and allows the use of a Ford V8 filter which greatly increases oil capacity. This picture has been posted too many times already. The downside is less protection in off-road conditions. I personally love its location as it leaves the engine bay less cluttered, easier to change oil, and it's way cooler in the wheelwell which increases engine longevity. ChrisR
http://www.4x4parts.com/public_html/shop/i...4ef6b1ae7c13c0f This is the one that I found. I will be buying one soon, changing oil with it in its stock location is a pain in the butt. Edited January 6, 2006 by ChrisR
Slick
ok, i need an oil filter relocation kit, t-bars, and c-v joints. i already have thorey headers, and a 3 inch body lift. also, i need to replace my valve cover gaskets, and rear main seal. any ideas on the later 2 or how to's are greatly appreciated! OFRK: Summit racing: P/N: (Perma Cool kit) PRM-10695 I paid $45.88 for mine (I have a '92 so P/N's should be the same) rear main seal: Autozone P/N: RS40628 $11.99 T-Bars.. here you have choices... Calmini seem to make the best ones.. Valve cover gasket: Kragen Auto Parts P/N: VS50251R1 $43.99 (pair with grommets) The body lift.. i guess ac or somewhere... I really wouldn't be able to recommend a place as i do not have a body lift Valve cover gaskets are rubber... use the blue gasket sealer.. put it on the actual valve cover where the gasket will go, and apply liberally! don't be stingy! rear main seal.. not too hard... almost self explanatory once you see it if oyu really need all the dirt and details i can provide them.. but would rather save some mileage on my keyboard..lol oh........and GOOD LUCK! -study- oh yeah.. cv joints can also be obtained at Kragen here's my OFRK.... mws
I always compare prices to Rock Auto (rockauto.com) for OEM parts. Sometimes I can get the top shelf quality parts for the same price as the taiwanese tripe at the local shops... But sometimes, their prices are not so great, so I always check around. mws
And I have used North Texas Nissan for OE parts based on a tip I got here. They were more than 30% less than my local dealer, and very pleasant to work with.
