No Blower motor...

Well Guys, My blower moter seems to have quite. well Somthing broke, Im not sure what(thats what you guys are for, right?). Happend a few months ago, I was wheeling one day, drove home everything was great. great heat ect. so the truck sat for about 3 days. some friends come over with there trucks so we head out to find some mud. windows start to fog, turn on the heat. NOTHING! dosent even make a sound. But when I click the A/C button, then turn fan on(speed 1-4) the light in the AC button will come on, but no fan. any Ideas? I may head out this weekend to the wreckers for a blower B/C mine was making that damn noise(bushing or bering, but It did that since new which was about 3 years ago, but the truck sat for a good 2 of those). Anything I should pick up while im there(resistors or anything)?

yeah, sounds like the blower motor might have went on you...

 

i always try to get some miscolenous screws, lightbulbs, fuses.. and whtever else comes to mind.. relays!!!

Could be a relay that has buggered up. I would check the wire connector at the fan too.

Pretty unusaul for a blower fan to just pack it in.

where would the relay be? Ive checked all the fuses. I guess Ill have to check the connections.

Good question. On reflection I can remember seeing one for the fan. It's a Nissan thing. They don't even have relays for the headlights? It just maybe one of the relays that are assemebled with the fuses. Check there first. If you get no love doing that, use a multimeter or a check light to check the power supply down the wires. If you do not have any of those tools, try running a couple of wires (from your battery) to the fan directly. At least that will be proof positive if the fan works or not.

turned out to be just the resistor. Got one free from the JY so I was very happy that all it was. I was also able to wire up my 6" lights on the roof, man are they bright!

if its still making lots of noise mine had some how scarfed up some leaves and then some rubber piece i guess it was some sort of flapper fell down in there so i pulled the fan out of the bottom and all that crap was in there and it was like 10x quieter than it had ever been since i bought her
