Well it all started when i decided to put in the f100 shocks at the back of my 88 terrano. All went well and gave me a 7 cm/ 2.5 in. Then i decided to crank my torsion bar and as these things go i cranked it up a bit far. SO im all happy driving along and suddenly when i take of in first gear it makes a clunking sound. I put down my torsion bar to the orginal position and its still making the noise Now ive took the uni joints apart but they look good .

Any suggestions ?????????? :wacko:

Check the motor/tranny mounts for excessive play or tears. Things could be moving on you and 1st gear is always the worst. Is it a manual transmission ? Does the rear differential have play in it ? You would probably feel that in most gears though... :shrug:

Also check the bushings in the rear end, especially the control arms. People have had the bushings disintegrate leaving metal on metal. That also may clunk when torque is applied to the rear axle. Unfortunately, you pretty much have to remove them to check. How many miles on your rig ?

It is a manual and there is 202 000km on her. But i found the prob. I rang a mate to come over so one of us could drive and the other lisen. He drove it forward and i lisend and herd the noise was much further forward than i thought so i poped the bonet to see the fan hiting the plastic cover. Im not sure why this is happening but by changing the back angel in has done somthing to in??
