I was hoping someone could give me some insight on replacing a fuel filter on my '93. Anyone have some quick instructions that I could use to avoid taking it in to have someone do it for me?

Pretty simple. It's located on the passenger's side. Has two clamps on each end that will have to come off. Make sure you reinstall it in the right direction. just look at your old one when you take it off, there's a rounded end and a flat end on the filter to distinguish this. Also your new filter should have an arrow to show direction of flow. Your arrow should point towards the front of your vehicle.

When removing the gas line off of your old filter, make sure your ignition is turned off, if not your fuel pump will keep shooting gas out. Also remember that your old filter will have aproximately a cup of gas in it so when you do take that fuel line out you might want to have some sort of container to catch this gas so you don't get gas on your garage floor or driveway. You are now ready to reverse the process, make sure you yighten the clamps, turn on your ignition to activate your fuel pump, check to make sure you don't have any leaks, Go wheeling.

Good luck, have fun,

Denis

Another trick is to pull the fuse for the fuel pump, then run the engine till it dies, that way less gas shoots everywhere when you pull off the fuel line.

Yeah, I depressurized mine and only about 1/8 of a cup of fuel came out.
