dimmer thingy

I went to brighten up my dash a few nights ago, and the dimmer scroller had no effect.. up or down (I guess its left to right but w/e).

 

Pulled the center console off thinking the plug came out when I was fiddeling with my deck, but it was A-OK...

 

Any ideas?

 

P.S. I swapped my seat heart fuse for the deck one, cause I blew it and the spare (tryign to fix loose wires, and isolate a buzzing noise in one of the speakers), but I doubt that would cause this.

 

Edit: Its a 95 SE too btw.

Sounds like the rheostat isn't working. Do the dash lights come on at all?

 

If you need a new one, I have a couple.

all the dash lights work great. I just can't adjust them at all !? weird stuff.

I don't have problem with the dimmer, what happens is that what's in green in the pic does not light up when the lights are on. Could it be the same problem, I checked the bulbs and they aren't burned out.
