Guest skm348
The parking brake light on the dash and the ABS light keep going on and off. Does anyone know what that means? Brake pads are fine and brakes work ok, other than a little sqeaking. Thanks for your help!
Precise1
Do you have rear disk or drum brakes ? If it is drum, are the shoes adjusted properly ? How old are they ? Could there be anything interfering with the hand brake cables ? The light flickering could just be the indicator switch loose or needing adjustment. That is at the base if the hand brake assembly on the drivers side. The fact that the ABS does it at the same time makes me thing it is something else though unless the ABS light comes on any time you engage the hand brake. Could it possible be the fluid level ? Do you notice any drag from the rear brakes ? Do they get unusually hot ? B
Guest skm348
Precise, no, the brakes seem fine. The rears are drum. I'll check the connection at the brake lever for a loose fir etc. Thanks!
SC88Pathy
Definatly check the fluid level first, if it is even 1/4 down top it off, the fluid sensor is really sensitive, and can be tripped when going around corners (fluid goes to one side and trips it). Guest skm348
Yes, it was the fluid. I topped it off and no more light! Thanks to all who responded.
