Guest InitialB
I just did a tune up on my 93 pathfinder plugs, wires cap and rotor I made sure the plugs were properly gapped and that every wire was snug on both the distributor and plug but now I seem to get a little more vibration (shaking)from the engine than I did before the tune up the rpms fluxate a little bit but nothing major did I do something wrong what should I look for to fix the increase in vibration
Animal
Try cleaning cam shaft position sensor (under the rotor). Otherwise, maybe a bad plug or wire.
Guest InitialB
I'll re-check everything I wasn't very confident in the plug wires they seem cheap and the fit on the plug didn't seem tight no matter how much I pushed on them.
Precise1
Hmm, doesn't sound like those plug wires are very good or maybe even the right ones. Did you check the timing after replacing the cap and rotor ? It can make a bit of a difference... B
Guest InitialB
Well I think it's the plug wires I made sure they were all fitting tight on the spark plug and when I went to start it up it ran fine drove it for 15 min to lunch and it ran fine. Go to start it up to go home and it's right back to shaking. I think I am just going to to do what I should have done and order the OEM spark plug wires from nissan, heck they are only 12.00 more than I paid for these crappy ones. Guest InitialB
well it turned out it wasn't the wires I am thinking I disturbed a vacum line some where when I did my tune up but this engine looks like its covered in them. Simon
There's a small vacuum line that runs in the back near the #6 spark plug (the tough one to get to). It's easily knocked off when you're changing the plugs. Feel around back there, and see if you feel one with an end that's off.
