David87Pathy
I have a 1987 pathfinder se v6 man. 4x4. I only had it for about 2 months and it started going into limp mode. Then It just quit starting. I figured out that it will start and run (in limp mode) when I unplug injector A and only use injector B. Will not start with both of them plugged in or Just A plugged in. I tried then to switch the power and ground on one then both. Same result. Runs only with B. So injector A is bad I gather. . I am considering doing a carb swap with a redline Weber conversion kit to resolve the problem as it might be less hassle in the long run, but can't find much info on how the ECCS handles that. Would it still be in limp? I imagine that if I remove the injectors and replace with a carburetor I will still have the error code for injector circuit and it will still be in limp mode. I believe it controls the ignition timing to do so idk. Does anyone have any experience with this situation or knows how or if it would solve my problem and get the truck out of limp? Maybe other suggestions? Any info would help. Thanks. Edited June 25 by David87Pathy
Slartibartfast
When injector A is hooked up, can you see it spraying fuel? Sounds like it might be stuck open/flooding the engine. JamesRich carb'd his and seemed pleased with it. He found an HEI dizzy for it, too. No idea if those parts are still available.
